Review The Song (11)Print the Lyrics
Honestly what will become of me
don't like reality
It's way too clear to me
But really life is dandy
We are what we don't see
Missed everything daydreaming

[Chorus:]
Flames to dust
Lovers to friends
Why do all good things come to an end
Flames to dust
Lovers to friends
Why do all good things come to an end
come to an end come to an
Why do all good things come to end?
come to an end come to an
Why do all good things come to an end?

Traveling I only stop at exits
Wondering if I'll stay
Young and restless
Living this way I stress less
I want to pull away when the dream dies
The pain sets in and I don't cry
I only feel gravity and I wonder why

Flames to dust
Lovers to friends
Why do all good things come to an end
Flames to dust
Lovers to friends
Why do all good things come to an end
come to an end come to an
Why do all good things come to end?
come to an end come to an
Why do all good things come to an end?

Well the dogs were whistling a new tune
Barking at the new moon
Hoping it would come soon so that they could
Dogs were whistling a new tune
Barking at the new moon
Hoping it would come soon so that they could
Die die die die die

Flames to dust
Lovers to friends
Why do all good things come to an end
Flames to dust
Lovers to friends
Why do all good things come to an end
come to an end come to an
Why do all good things come to end?
come to an end come to an
Why do all good things come to an end?

Well the dogs were barking at a new moon
Whistling a new tune
Hoping it would come soon
And the sun was wondering if it should stay away for a day 'til the feeling went away
And the sky was falling on the clouds were dropping and
the rain forgot how to bring salvation
the dogs were barking at the new moon
Whistling a new tune
Hoping it would come soon so that they could die.

It takes some looking into... | Reviewer: Anonymous | 11/19/2007

It can be easy to miss the overall message of this song. Ulitmately, I think it really comes down to saying that if you live your life day after day, stuck in your fantasies and daydreams with your head in the clouds, it will hurt that much more when reality finally catches up to you.
That, and it doesn't help to live your life wondering about events that happened long ago, wishing you could do them over. Every day that goes by can't be undone, and every word that is spoken can't be taken back. Spending your time wishing for these things will leave you empty as life passes you by, and you look back at all the days you wasted on a moment that can't be taken back.
That's what I think.

one of those songs... | Reviewer: Anonymous | 7/19/2007

This is one of those songs that will be endearing to you when everything is okay in your life but will be completely depressing and leave you with an empty desolate feeling when you're down.

The first verse seems to explain the whole song for me. We feel this way (like the rest of the song) because we daydream about what could have been instead of what we do have. Living in reality is better on the soul than living in wishes and what- ifs...there's a balance.

There's my philosophical though for the day.

something | Reviewer: anonymous | 7/18/2007

i love this song it really has alot of heart in it.it made me think about the depressing situation in my life.which it is not bad.it is really touching and sounds like she had alot of sad things happen to her! her voice is so relaxed i luv that about her except for the song promiscuous! i just really want to meet her!!!!

Wrong Lyrics | Reviewer: Anonymous | 6/18/2007

half of these do not match the song (but i guess it must match something right?)

come to an end | Reviewer: tomato | 6/1/2007

When I say goodbye to my friend, i hear that song in mp3. And i feel my hearts empty, I lost my friend and all good things come to an end.

Awesome, catchy, lingering, enchanting... I travelled the length and width of Portugal in Feb/07 and every bus driver had it on at least once during each trip. I guess they are proud of "their" girl too, though we Canadians we know better, eh? The lyrics... well, at my age you'll have learnt that you could do much worse in life than "friends"...

i love this song i think that her songs are so much nicer when her voice is relaxed and soothing, unlike promiscuous
