All Dead All Dead Lyrics
Performed by QueenReview The Song (8)
Words and music by Brian May
She came without a farthing
A babe without a name
So much ado 'bout nothing
Is what she'd try to say
So much ado my lover
So many games we played
Through ev'ry fleeted summer
Through ev'ry precious day
All dead all dead
All the dreams we had
And I wonder why I still live on
All dead all dead
And alone I'm spared
My sweeter half instead
All dead and gone all dead
All dead all dead
At the rainbow's end
And still I hear her own sweet song
All dead all dead
Take me back again
You know my little friend's
All dead and gone
Her ways are always with me
I wander all the while
But please you must forgive me
I am old but still a child
All dead all dead
But I should not grieve
In time it comes to ev'ryone
All dead all dead
But in hope I breathe
Of course I don't believe
You're dead and gone
All dead and gone

All Dead, All Dead Origins | Reviewer: Vov Verititas | 2/23/12
In an interview with Redbeard in 1975, He was embarassed discussing it. Brian said the song was written thinking it was about one thing but ended up really being an attempt by Brian to get over the death of his childhood cat. It kind of personal to him, but in the end he found it strange that the song had the effect of getting it out of his system.(paraphrased) www.youtube.com/watch?v=EAtbC_xHLB8&feature=related
Stuck on replay | Reviewer: The Mighty Tim | 2/13/11
I hadn't taken a lot of notice of this song, just heard it while letting 'News of the World' play through. It got stuck in my head though, out of nowhere. I hadn't heard the album recently or anything. It's haunting and lovely, which I think is Brian May's calling card. '39' gets stuck in my head a lot too. Glad to find the lyrics of such a lovely song.
This song makes me sigh. | Reviewer: Seven | 6/5/09
This is one of my favorite Queen songs. I didn't realise it was Brian singing. The same way I didn't realise he started of 'who wants to live forever.' He's a little less powerful but his delivery and timbre are very similar to Freddy's.
Is This Truly About Brian May's Cat | Reviewer: Anonymous | 5/20/09
I recently heard that this song was about a dead cat. This song makes me very sad, so if it is really just about a cat, I can almost live with that, even though I know how beloved pets are. If you can shed light on the subject, please do.
RIP Reteen (1985-2003)
Great song | Reviewer: Dave Kunstmann | 8/14/08
This is such a beautiful song, I like the songs where Bryan sings the leader vocals, Mercury on the other hand makes great background vocals as well on this one.
It brings lots of teenager memories.
Queen kicks ass!!!
Agreed! | Reviewer: Maja :) | 8/29/07
Gosh Bob, I agree with you! Couldn't have said it better, as a matter of fact. Though I didn't see it as a joke at first, but it's true that most songs initially do seem like a parody or joke.. :)
Wonderful | Reviewer: Moony | 8/21/07
This is such a smiple song...but the words and music behind it are really amazing. Queen is just so wonderful!
Amazing | Reviewer: Bob | 7/27/07
While the song comes off as a bit of a joke, as most Queen songs do on first glance, the lyrics are truly amazing. Few people realize the true genius behind Queen, and this song is a shining example of an underrated epic.
