All Apologies Lyrics

What else should I be?
All apologies.
What else could I say?
Everyone is gay.
What else could I write?
I don't have the right.
What else should I be?
All Apologies.
In the sun
In the sun I feel as one
In the sun
In the sun
Married!
Buried!
I wish I was like you
Easily amused
Find my nest of salt
Everything is my fault
I'll take all the blame
I'll proceed from shame
Sunburn with freezer burn
Choking on the ashes of her enemy
In the sun
In the sun I feel as one
In the sun
In the sun
Married, Married, Married!
Buried!
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah,
All in all is all we are [x20]

I have to say that I life in Finland so my English don´t be maybe so good... When I listen Nirvana, I think that I don´t never fed up with it, because it´s like a narcotics for me. So fun, because I get a withdrawal symptoms if I don´t hear kurt cobain´s screaming over the week... So what the hell I´m trying to say?
come on guys it's simple! | Reviewer: Anonymous | 1/12/12

I THINK.. | Reviewer: Ace | 9/4/11
I loved nirvana and stil is. Although some of their songs that i really don't understand up until now, but i've never tried to analyse it. But whenever i remember what kind of life kurt had i really feel so sad. Sometimes i find myself crying for him. Maybe he felt rejected, unwanted, misunderstood, unloved ever since he was a kid. Although we as his fans and supporters really loved him, it wasn't enough for him to have the courage to live on. Maybe until his last breath he didn't realize what kind of love he really needed and he didn't know who can give that kind of love.. That's what i think..

Kurt said (at least in the stuff I read) that he always wrote music first and foremost, and then would take random bits of poetry he wrote and strung it together in broken phrases for lyrics.
This means that, yes, his lyrics had a meaning. But each little part had its own purpose from his poetry, so there wasn't usually an overall theme in any song (there are a few exceptions, like Rape Me).
Thats what I read anyway.
No meanings | Reviewer: Anonymous | 6/8/11
Im sick of people trying to find Kurt's meanings. He said it himself, music comes first, lyrics come second. Most of his songs were written to fit the music. There aren't secret deep meanings. Just enjoy the song and stop over thinking things and acting like you "get it".

When i hear the song and read the lyrics.
I think about that hes sings about when he stands at stage.
Like "in the sun"= "when i stand at stage" "i feel as one"= "i feel complete"
since its his life and sun could mean spotlights?
Then "Married", "Buried" means like "my carrier will end when i get married", "my sun will disappear"
And it dosent have to mean about his life.
Just his thoughts about what happens to others/ his friends etc.
what do you think ?:)

Cobain brilliantly speaks of the chains that were placed on his heart bc of his aspirations and hopes. He is apologizing for nothing. He places emphasis on ignorance. He highlights the sun as a guiding light... For him and others it's not always enough. His talents are missed... He should have followed his emotions further.

kurt puts his view on life and marriage into this song when his sings "married, buried". he's giving his take on how he views life or how his life is taking course and how it eventually did by obviously saying u get married and u eventually die. also when he sings "all in all is all we are" he's singing of how meaningless life seems to him. he could also be saying that everyone is bound to have the same fate, making everyone equal in a way.

I have to say that this is the first time i actually listen to Nirvana and i completely fallen in love with their music. My Boyfriend listens to them all the time and speaks of how great Kurt is and how he would put his heart into his songs. And i never took the time to listen and pay attention to what Kurt expressed throughout his songs. I am truly touched and i definitely love his songs. Especially all apologies. What else can i say he was an amazing human being. May he Rest in Peace.
His apologies | Reviewer: Ty | 1/26/11
He is not good enough in his mind. Having trouble finding happiness and lacking the ability to just be satisfied with the life he owns. This,in my mind, makes him so different from other people in the world.

I know that it was so long ago that I heard this song but it always feel like the first time I'm hearing it. Of course, this song is literally about his wife! If there is any doubt, watch "Live at Reading". But I understand that this song has a much deeper and more broad stroke for all his fans. What good would the song be if all we thought about was Courtney! His music resonates with almost anyone! Here I am the biggest Rap fan and I cannot pull myself away from Nirvana, more than twenty years later! I'm just saying- find your own meaning and joy in Nirvana and don't worry about what other people tell you that YOU should think or feel.
