All Apologies Lyrics - Nirvana

Review The Song (86)

What else should I be?
All apologies.
What else should I say?
Everyone is gay.
What else should I write?
I don't have the right.
What else should I be?
All Apologies.

In the sun
In the sun I feel as one
In the sun
In the sun
Married! Buried!

I wish I was like you
Easily amused
Find my nest of salt

Everything`s my fault
I'll take all the blame
I'll proceed from shame
Sunburn with freezer burn
Choking on the ashes of her enemy

In the sun
In the sun I feel as one
In the sun
In the sun
Married, Buried,
Married! Buried!
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah,

All alone is all we are [x20]

Bipolar Disorder | Reviewer: Kris | 3/15/14

Nobody seems to mention the fact that he was suffering from Bipolar Disorder. He was very ill and that wasn't his fault and that doesn't come from "worshipping satan". It's a medical illness of the brain. Bipolar Disorder has the highest mortality rate of any mental illness. Unfortunately he lost his battle with this illness as many do.

Nice song. the text could be that we are "married" to the earth. like we are not doing anything special, but living, or killing time. and then we die. nothing more. "all in all is all we are".

To the person below... | Reviewer: Non-believer | 8/14/13

To the person below:

Shame on you for forcing your narrow minded interpretation of a supreme being upon other people. A core excerpt from the outdated book of urban legends you live by states that you should respect your neighbor.

You, sir or madam, show no respect what so ever and are dangerously focused on your catholic views. I, in turn, show you no respect since the bible states I should treat people as they see fit to treat me.

A word of advice: Get your extremist self hospitalised before you hurt someone.

To the person below who is foolish to be an unbeliever... | Reviewer: flajerace@o2.pl | 5/11/13

To the person below, shame for your unbelief. Please don't take my comment lightly, i completely reject all religion and love Jesus Christ.
If you are a nonbeliever in God and Heaven and Hell shame for you. People for ages and ages made up MESSED UP religions either rejecting and blaspheming God or making up false ways to 'enter Heaven'. No one is righteous and everyone deserves hell as no one is 'good' enough to enter Heaven, but there IS A WAY OUT...
YES - it's the DESPISED, HATED, BUT LOVED BY A CERTAINLY LESS NUMBER OF PEOPLE WHO OBEY HIM AND HIS FREE SALVATION GIFT OF LIFE - Jesus Christ, who is our God, our bridge between man and God, our Lord and Saviour!
The Way to Heaven is admitting you are a sinner, deserving hell, and believing on this Gospel (good news TO BE BELIEVED AND TRUSTED) and trusting Jesus Christ as your salvation alone...
Jesus Christ paid the price of hell for our sins - he DIED on the cross FOR ME, SHEDDING HIS BLOOD FOR ALL MY SINS, he got BURIED, and was RESURRECTED 3 days later...

Kurt Cobain and his sold-out identity... so sad | Reviewer: flajerace | 5/11/13

What he lacked is truly love. Was living a life of evil instead of Jesus Christ. He wanted his parents love but got destroyed by his parents divorce. His mentality became destroying and he decided to worship satan and love all things - hanged dolls of little babies, complete drug worshipping. It didn't get him anything no matter how much whores, alcohol, drugs, heroin he took in, it would never fill his hole in heart. He first saw love from his parents. They started divorcing. He already as a child imagined a "Buddah" so he was already believing in devils, and his parents's divorce definitely shattered him. He sold his soul to the devil for "good-sounding music". and rejected Jesus Christ in his lyrics and believed his life was only a 'Hindu Nirvana' an illusion but the illusion was that he believed this was true... But even the Bible calls Allah the 'greatest deceiver' all religions are messed up. He sold his soul and unhappily burned away and went to hell. Some would call him a 'legend' for me I was listening to his music because I knew my brother was listening and wanted to see what it was. Well it only sounded good, the guitars etc. screeching it's all worthless and it is not-so-good music of satan. All it did was make me almost destroy my life in teenage rebellion, with problems because of demon posssession already (i got healed thanks to Jesus Christ) and i didn't get a morale - i knew i wouldn't want to ever follow Kurt Cobain... It's a shame how he destroyed himself. If my belief in Jesus Christ is true Cobain is sadly burning in hell for rejecting God. I used to say "peace" to such souls but... really stupid what you did. flajerace@o2.pl

Good | Reviewer: Erwin | 10/16/12

I really like his acoustic songs, and ofcourse also some of the non acoustic songs :)

I dont believe strongly in god, souls, heaven and hell.. but if spirits/souls really do exists, Im sertain he deserves a spot in heaven, or atleast the peace he didnt have in his life.

Great | Reviewer: Finnish 13 year old | 6/16/12

Im also from Finland. I listen to Nirvana almost everyday and it just is so chill. Nirvana's music just has everything i need. A little bit pop, some true grunge songs, "angst", and an full album of acoustic songs and another one with demo's and home made songs.

I really miss.. | Reviewer: olga | 5/23/12

... his voice. When I listen to nirvana and to the voice of Kurt, than I feel free.. it seems like a trip, a high.. I just hope that when I will die, that I met him just to listen to his songs live. 'till the end of my unnatural Life!

I THINK.. | Reviewer: Ace | 9/4/11

I loved nirvana and stil is. Although some of their songs that i really don't understand up until now, but i've never tried to analyse it. But whenever i remember what kind of life kurt had i really feel so sad. Sometimes i find myself crying for him. Maybe he felt rejected, unwanted, misunderstood, unloved ever since he was a kid. Although we as his fans and supporters really loved him, it wasn't enough for him to have the courage to live on. Maybe until his last breath he didn't realize what kind of love he really needed and he didn't know who can give that kind of love.. That's what i think..

reality | Reviewer: Jon | 6/13/11

Kurt said (at least in the stuff I read) that he always wrote music first and foremost, and then would take random bits of poetry he wrote and strung it together in broken phrases for lyrics.

This means that, yes, his lyrics had a meaning. But each little part had its own purpose from his poetry, so there wasn't usually an overall theme in any song (there are a few exceptions, like Rape Me).

Thats what I read anyway.

No meanings | Reviewer: Anonymous | 6/8/11

Im sick of people trying to find Kurt's meanings. He said it himself, music comes first, lyrics come second. Most of his songs were written to fit the music. There aren't secret deep meanings. Just enjoy the song and stop over thinking things and acting like you "get it".
