The band AION was started in January 1996 in Poznan,
Poland.

In the same year, in June the guys recorded the promotional
demo from which a piece "The Birth" occured on the CD
compilation "Blood To Come Vol. 1" in Thrash'em all
magazine.

In July 1996 AION signed a contract with Polish publisher
MORBID NOIZZ PROD. The contract resulted in recording
session in Hellenic Studio and in releasing a debut album
entitled "Midian". The "Midian" material was promoted in
the series of gigs of which worth mentioning is, first of
all, a performance with such stars as MERCYFUL FATE and
KING DIAMOND in Poznan Arena. AION also played a series of
concerts "From Dark To Gothic..." with ARTROSIS and
SACRIVERSUM gathering halls full of audience in multiple
