Aimee Mann Lyrics

In a key song on her eagerly awaited new album, Aimee Mann
poses the eternal $64,000 question: "How Am I Different?"
To which besotted fans, admiring critics, and her
felicitous fellow musicians might all be inclined to
answer: Let us count the ways.

She first rose to fame bucking an overbearing beau's
attempts at hush puppetry in 'Til Tuesday's "Voices Carry,"
and hasn't developed any more of a taste for conformity in
the years since -least of all with Bachelor No. 2, her
third solo album and first independent release. Mann More...

------ About the song Slip and Roll performed by Aimee Mann

Clearly a cut and paste from someone else who got them wrong. Chorus is "stick the jab kid, dont just trade punches like your father did, 'cause playing the odds isn't fooling the gods . . ."

------ About the song Voices Carry performed by Aimee Mann

oh, he tells me tears are something to hide
and something to fear
and I try so hard to keep it inside
so no one can hear

Should read:

oh, he tells me tears are something to hide
and something to FAKE
and I try so hard to keep it inside
so no one can COMPLAIN

------ About the song Calling On Mary performed by Aimee Mann

Aimee Mann's Christmas CD is rough around the edges quirky love project that may be only for fans. But the originals that bookend the album are worthy of being added to the carol catalogs that gets pulled out each year. This one, in particular, captures with genuine heart the ambivalence of our times with hurt and hope, regret and vulnerability and tune I can't get out of my head for days everytime I hear it. The perfect carol for agnostics!

------ About the song Today's the Day performed by Aimee Mann

I agree with Shuo Yang this song is really beautiful and it was really good in that part when Jennifer Lopez thinks that all the doors are closed and she doesn't know what to do, definetely beautiful movie and beautiful song.

I play this and have to hear it again. A great observation bt the previous poster that it is just dead simple. Haunting. And will be one of my favourites forever. Aimee is amazing. And radio in America is equally amazing in it's being appaulingly bad. She should be a household word.

Lovely, beautiful song | Reviewer: Shuo Yang
------ About the song Today's the Day performed by Aimee Mann

This song is very lovely. I remember hearing it as a soundtrack song on the 2002 psychologic thriller "Enough", starring Jennifer Lopez, who stars as Slim. It was a good movie and I think the song reflected part of what was happening throughout the movie, the part where Slim takes her little girl Gracie to someplace safe where they could survive. It was really cool, somehow. I liked it.

My chorus group at school sung this for our Christmas concert, and it was a really fun, entertaining song, fun to both learn and perform. I constantly find myself singing this song, and I love it. My brother asks me to sing it whenever we go to a White Elephant gift exchange, so... it's a great holiday song. Thanks!!

What an amazing song. I siscovered it when I first watched an episode of Buffy the Vampire Slayer that showed this. It's a song that hails back to the good old days or rock with that amazing guitar solo.
