Not regression. Its not called "progressive melodic death metal" for a reason. In order to get "better" one must GROW. Both spiritually and mentally. There are NOT that many bands that can consistantly produce mind altering music(the almighty Slayer....IS THE ONLY BAND that comes to mind). While i was not floored by this album, it actually is better technically then say...Reroute,Soundtrack AND, Come Clarity. By no means am i a music critic. If i was, i would probably piss a majority of you people off. I end this by stating: In Flames, has done nothing but put out BADASS music, both "heavy metal" and the "melodic" as well. And if you dont agree with it...pretty much you have been living in a fucking hole. It doesn't give all the chills it could - perhaps the theme appearing to be climate change and the unavoidable destruction of planet earth in the future. It cannot reach the sludgy pondering questions of "Free fall", which it should, in my opinion.
