Once thing I've noticed in almost all Gilmour's compositions, it's the melancholy of a better time when we were younger (subject present in this song and in High Hopes), how there was a better time and how all life's expetations are converted to disillusionment as we grow. But still we have the nusic. It makes me think of the past, my mistakes, my regrets, it is sad. It makes me want to fix the world, but it makes you realize how the world is at the same time.
