A Vampire's Lament Lyrics - Atreyu

Review The Song (11)

I am the walking dead heartbreaker... my apologies...
I'm happy you'll never understand...
what it's like to be... trapped under six feet of...
solid glass... I can see out, but no one gets in...

Screaming at the prison...
I've locked myself into..
I'm sorry that I'm still breathing...
and that I'll Kill again...

but the loneliness is too much... for me to handle.
the taste of fresh blood... pushes me on.

I.. told myself.. the con..stant pain..
could ease..the tension... burning inside..
But the nights... were cold... and the days... dragged to weeks...
I will die... here alone... I will die..

The fear of romance.
The pain of living.
The joy of sorrow.
The strength of not forgiving.(2x)

God help me... I'm so tired...
but in my dreams... the wolves ate out my soul...
God help me... I'm so frightened...
but in my dreams... the wolves tear out my heart...

I used to be golden... a saint in a time of sorrow...
but then the turning came... and I kissed the sun goodbye...
don't you get it... it's always darker in my eyes,
the screams of my brothers.. egging me on.

Anyone Read Christine Feehan? | Reviewer: metalamor | 7/17/09

Seriously, read Christine Feehan. This sounds just like a Carpathian ready to turn Vampire..."I'm sorry I'm still breathing, and that I'll kill again" Carpathians without lifemates commit suicide to prevent themselves from turning into evil, souless Vampires. "But the lonliness is too much for me to handle"--again, Carpathian males turn evil without their Lifemates. "I used to be golden... a saint in a time of sorrow...
but then the turning came... and I kissed the sun goodbye..." Carpathians fight for good until they turn into Vampires or commit suicide.
It probably has nothing at all to do with the Carpathian books, but as a fan of them I do find a lot of striking parallels between the books and this song.

A great medley of metal with beautiful singing. | Reviewer: Daniel | 10/10/07

A Vampire's Lament is one of those songs where it doesn't hit you until you've read the lyrics.

Being able to sing along with this song is what makes it one of the Atreyu greats. Though a video was not made for this specific song, you don't need one.

I feel A Vampire's Lament is one of Atreyu's greatest works. A perfect mix of hard metal with a touch of great singing.

I. Love. Atreyu. | Reviewer: Amanda | 7/18/07

This has always been my favourite Atreyu song and it always will be.

=) | Reviewer: Bree | 5/23/07

This song also reminds me of Underworld.
Like how Vincent is in that thing awaiting revival and stuff.
It's great.
Atreyu is great.
This song is great.
Underworld/Underworld Evolution is great.
((And for those of you who have seen those two movies....The Covenant is great, too! And I'm waiting for Blood and Chocolate to come out. All four are by the same producer.))

Atreyu is a metal God. | Reviewer: Anonymous | 3/24/07

I love every Atreyu song equally, but this has to be one of my favorites.

My favorites are This Flesh A Tomb, Demonology & Heartache, and Her Portrait In Black. Don't even get me started about Bleeding Mascara and The Crimson (I actually played The Crimson as my school's talent show with my friends).

Atreyu rocks | Reviewer: Latichia | 2/26/07

I'm so happy to find yet another of Atreyu's wonderful songs. :D although my favourites the crimson, and demonology and heartache, this one rocks too!

YAY! | Reviewer: Mercedes | 2/13/07

WOOT, Atreyu yet agian does an amazing job on a song. =]
nothing is better than "bleeding Mascara" but this comes close.
And i dont think either of those songs remind me of Underworld

Atreyu once again puts the near romantic tragic vampire tale in to there songs, along with kick as metal and rock, to create kick ass songs. 4 stars, and 2 thumbs way up on Atreyu.

though for some reason the Crimson reminds me more of underworld...
