A Punchup At A Wedding Lyrics - Radiohead
Review The Song (4)
I don't know why you bother
Nothing's ever good enough for you.
(By the way) I was there and it wasn't like that.
You've come here just to start a fight
You had to piss on our parade
You had to shred our big day
You had to ruin it for all concerned
In a drunken punch-up at a wedding
Don't infect me with your poison
A bull in a china shop
When I turn 'round you stay frozen to the spot
You had the pointless snide remarks
Of hammerheaded sharks
The pot will call the kettle black
It's a drunken punch-up at a wedding yeah
Oh no no

Angry Radiohead | Reviewer: Viktor | 8/20/10
This is one of the angriest songs radiohead has created - and one that I like the most. The pacing of the lyrics, the lyrics themselves, and the instrumentation, is all very "f%cK you" sounding. I generally play this song at work when my b!tch of a boss is on my last nerve and I'm about to flip sh!t. Just pretend this song is about any boss you've ever dispised with every molecule of your being, and generally the lyrics fit perfectly.
Song meaning | Reviewer: Martin C | 7/14/08
The lyrics to the song actually relate to a negative review Radiohead got from an Oxford show they played 7th July 2001. The band had really enjoyed playing the show and Thom took offence at the review leading to the line "you had to piss on our parade, you had to shred our big day".
punchup | Reviewer: Anonymous | 4/17/07
heard that there was a song on Hail To The Thief about how Thom got beaten up. people were saying its A Wolf At The Door, but i'm pretty sure its Punchup. the lyrics speak literally as a reflection and a story.
