A Beautiful Mess Lyrics - Jason Mraz
Review The Song (10)
You've got the best of both worlds
You're the kind of girl who can take down a man,
And lift him back up again
You are strong but you're needy,
Humble but you're greedy
And based on your body language,
And shoddy cursive I've been reading
Your style is quite selective,
though your mind is rather reckless
Well I guess it just suggests
that this is just what happiness is
And what a beautiful mess this is
Well it's like we're picking up trash in dresses
Well it kind of hurts when the kind of words you write
Kind of turn themselves into knives
And don't mind my nerve you could call it fiction
sponsored linksBut I like being submerged in your contradictions, dear
'Cause here we are, here we are
Although you were biased I love your advice
Your comebacks they're quick
And probably have to do with your insecurities
There's no shame in being crazy,
Depending on how you take these
Words I'm paraphrasing this relationship we're staging
And what a beautiful mess, this is
Well it's like picking up trash in dresses
Well it kind of hurts when the kind of words you say
Kind of turn themselves into blades
And "kind and courteous" is a life I've heard
But it's nice to say that we played in the dirt, oh dear
'Cause here, here we are
Here we are [x7]
We're still here
What a beautiful mess this is
It's like taking a guess when the only answer is "Yes"
And through timeless words and priceless pictures
We'll fly like birds not of this earth
And tides they turn and hearts disfigure
But that's no concern when we're wounded together
And we tore our dresses and stained our shirts
But it's nice today. Oh, the wait was so worth it.

I hear this song in my mind all day! | Reviewer: kathy ison | 6/23/11
It just moves me emotionally in different directions. While a part of the lyric may be sad the way he expresses it just makes it so passionate. I can say I have a bad crush on this babydoll and I'm in need of 52 inches of him, a new T.V. that is. Can't wait to see him in person!
True love | Reviewer: Anonymous | 4/6/11
There is understanding, forgiveness, openness...here we are. Still breathing the love, still taking the hurt and accepting each othersr faults and tainted past unconditionally. An inexplicably beautiful love song

awesome song | Reviewer: Anonymous | 10/8/10
A lot of people have said this is a sad song, but I think that it really depends on how you interpret it. It actually reminds me of myself, and to me sounds like the story of someone loving someone else with some issues. Being the one with issues, I wonder (and can def imagine so) if this is the way someone who loves me feels: that sometimes it's just tough going, even if they feel it's all worth it
Love it | Reviewer: Jill | 9/29/10
You are such an inspiration to me, to my life. God love you as I do. I just can't wait for the day that I get to see you in person. You warm my heart and soul. I now wear a bracelet like yours to remind me of you and your band and your life.

The first time I heard this song, it hit me right at the heart. I was at one of his concerts and my friends and I put our arms around each other and stood in a circle...tears were streaming down every face..including mine. Thank you Jason.
Yeah it is a sad song.. | Reviewer: www.cebuadvertise.com | 10/1/09
Yeah,I listen to the song over and over probably more than 5 times, it is a sad song, though not bad at all, it is good, great and perfect. At first when I heard the song, it seems not that splendid, but after I had read the lyrics and listen to the melody of the song it is mind-blowing and describe a story which is too familiar to me ^_^.
Keep up the good work <spoko> means Thumbs Up!!!
beautiful. | Reviewer: bryan | 5/13/09
this song is just beautiful. the chords and melodies are so captivating and the whole structure of the song is amazing. perfectly crafted, amazingly executed, and possibly the best song on the album IMO.

Well, i don't know why but he really express a very sad feeling...
It's like I am drowning in it's lyrics and melodies everytime I hear it...
It has something that I can't describe...
He really knows how to sing a song with such a deep feelings...
what a touching song | Reviewer: elli | 3/29/09
At first, thia song wasn't one of my favorite song. It kind of outshined by 'Make it mine' and 'Lucky' and 'I'm yours' in the album. Then I'm lucky enough to see him in a concert, and embarassing as it this, my eyes suddenly got watery in the middle of this song! Don't know what happened that night, but his voice, the way he sang this song, the lyric, the way the audience just staring at him in silence (like me) during this song...just blew me away. He's a real genius.
