The wolves, my love, will come
Taking us home where dust once was a man
Is there life before a death?
Do we long too much
(And never let in?)
Howl
Seven days to the wolves
Where will we be when they come?
Seven days to the poison
And a place in heaven
Time drawing near as they come to take us
This is my church of choice
Love's strength standeth in love's sacrifice
For the rest, I have to say to you
I will dream like the god
(And suffer like all the dead children)
Howl
Seven days to the wolves
Where will we be when they come?
Seven days to the poison
And a place in heaven
Time drawing near as they come to take us
This is where heroes and cowards part ways
Light the fire, feast
Chase the ghost, give in
Take the road less traveled by
Leave the city of fools
Turn every poet loose
Howl
Seven days to the wolves
Where will we be when they come?
Seven days to the poison
And a place in heaven
Time drawing near as they come to take us
Howl
Seven days to the wolves
Where will we be when they come?
Seven days to the poison
And a place in heaven
Time drawing near as they come to take us

Review about 7 Days To The Wolves 7 days to the wolves | Reviewer: unknownpersonality | 10/30/09
This song is based on the book Wolves of the Calla by Stephen King. Wolves of the Calla is the 5th book in the Dark Tower series.
If you are going to read this book because of the Nightwish song, you have to start with book 1 in the series, otherwise book 5 won't make any sense.
Haven't heard the song yet, but I like the lyrics.

This song truly represents our life, how we live it, and what the "wovles" can do to us. They can kill us and take us away. They are our downfall. Both heroes and cowards are stolen by the wolves. I personally don't like the steroetype of wolves about how they eat everything and are savage. Wolves are some of my favorite animals. It still is a well written song and the chorus is amazing! Another fantastic song by Nightwish!
This song is untouchable, it screams the truth in each of us, no matter how hidden that truth is. It tells of how we will be fed to some kind of poisonous media, or pressure and we will surely give and allow "the wolves" to eat away at our very hearts. Of course this is simply biased and you can see the song another way if you wish.
an amazing song with a lot of possibilities for a good choir group (hint hint) | Reviewer: Anonymous | 1/3/09
imagine getting a good choir and full concert band with guitar etc. to do a version of this song set up for four part harmony..... the power that would be achievable with that one word "howl".... give one high female voice to do a secant over that word, to add some punch and power to make your hair stand on edge.... i would love to hear someone do that. it's already a wonderfully powerful song that gives chills, so no improvement really needed, just a thought.
oh and yes i do know a little about vocal performance.... i admit not much but i can still envision the possibilities. they would be near endless
One of the best new songs | Reviewer: Mari | 9/30/07
In my opinion this is one of the best songs on the new album. The lyrics are very interesting and the music is absolutely stunning, especially the chorus and the ending.
