4 U Lyrics - Korn

Review The Song (9)

This shit right here is for you.
All your faces I can see;
You all think it's about me;
I'm about to break.
This is my fate.
Am I still damned to a life,
Of misery and hate?
You, you'll never know
What I'd do for you.
What you all,
Put Me through;
I do it for you.
I could (have),
Never (lived),
If it wasn't...
For you.

First off, this song is actually beautiful, you wouldn't usually expect that from a koRn song, but I think it's beautiful. I heard Jonathan say that this song is about the fans, it's about how he will really do anything for them, and pretty much has, but he just wanted them to know that it really did take a lot out of him. The song was first on the album Issues, which was released in '99 after they had done the family values tour, I think... But jonathan said that during that tour, every day he would sleep until about 5pm, do the show, then just go back to sleep. That really made me sad, when I first heard this. So I basically think this song is saying, Jon will do anything for his fans, but what he had done really took a lot out of him. But, he's great to his fans, after every show, he thanks everyone for coming out, and he'll say he loves them, and will tell them goodnight, and says that if it wasn't for them, their dreams would have never come true. That's amazing, he probably really means it, when some pop artist will just say it and forget it. KoRn is one of the last bands that really is real, Jonathan sings from his heart and will express himself and how he feels and things that are in this world, in a way that not many people could could do. He really relates to you, and he actually does care. I haven't listened to them for very long, but I know I will be listening to them for the rest of my life. They literally saved my life, and I really would just love to thank them for that.

It might be possible that this song has a double meaning, but one of them is without doubt the crowd/fans.
I first really recognized this song for what it was while watching a live performance when Jon really pointed out with his bodylanguage that he meant the people there at the show.

And I can only imagine what Jon has gone trough writing some of his songs considering many of them are SO very emotional straight from his heart. For god's sake he's cried both during recordings and shows because the songs are exactly what he felt (at the time which he's referring to in the song).

I can imagine it's hard to open up like Jon does, but he is a God for it. I love Korn to death for their godly music and everything you can relate to.

you guys are big sillies :)

he's speaking metaphysically. he recognizes the root of his pain as his existence among others. he is internally motivated to function with them, but he is dissatisfied with how much of him they can understand or how much they realize the effort he put behind what he does for them. he is commenting on the dissonance in his mind of being alive.

Awesome. | Reviewer: Matt | 7/20/10

I love this song, although it is to short, it is way awsome. If this song is about us, the crowd, then I think he really does appreciate all of us, and that we buy the albums and we aprreciate the awesome music he, and the rest of Korn put out. KoRn are gods themselves and god loves all his followers and this is him saying that he does strongly aprreciate all of us.. KoRn rules!

i don't think its about the fans...i'm sure he appreciates the crowd, but i think there's so much emotion in this ballad, that its about someone or something else. i don't know, its just how i perceive the lyrics. but korn kicks ass nonetheless :)

JD said he wrote that song for the fans to show us that it is hard for him to do what he does and emotionally he goes through a lot, but if it wasn't for the music and the fans he doesn't think he would be here anymore. He also made sure to say he wasn't "dissing" us in any way. It is a very awesome powerful song even though it is short.

Is he trying to say that... He just does this shit right here for us, the crowd. I mean, in the end... He says, I could've never lived if it wasn't for you... Shit... His life is fucked up...

ballad? | Reviewer: daray | 6/15/07

very nice song! I think a kind of a KoRn ballad...slow and filled with strong lyrics...anyway, it's just a great song and it's way to short!
