19-Something Lyrics - Mark Wills

Review The Song (3)

19-Something

Whoo
Oh yeah
I saw Star Wars at least 8 times
Had the Pac-Man pattern memorized
And I've seen the stuff
They put inside Stretch Armstrong
yeah

Well, I was Roger Staubach in my back yard
Had a shoebox full of baseball cards
And a couple of Evel Knievel scars
On my right arm
Well, I was a kid when Elvis died
And my mama cried

It was 1970- somethin'
sponsored links
In the world that I grew up in
Farrah Fawcett hair-do days
Bell bottoms and 8-track tapes
Lookin' back now I can see me
"N oh, man did I look cheesy
I wouldn't trade those days for nothin'
Oh, It was 1970-somethin'
yeah

Was the dawning of a new decade
We got our first microwave
And Dad broke down and finally shaved
Them old sideburns off
I took the stickers off of my Rubik's cube
Watched MTV all afternoon
'N my first love was Daisy Duke
In them cut off jeans
Space Shuttle fell out of the sky
And the whole world cried

It was 1980-something
In the world that I grew up in
Skating rinks and Black Trans Ams
Big hair and parachute pants
Lookin' back now I can see me
And oh, man did I look cheesy
I wouldn't trade those days for nothin'
Aw, It was 1980-somethin'

I got a mortgage and an SUV
But all this responsibility
Makes me wish (wish...)
Sometime (sometime...)

It was 1980-somethin'
In the world that I grew up in
Skating rinks and Black Trans Ams
Big hair and parachute pants
Lookin' back now I can see me
'N oh, man did I look cheesy
I wouldn't trade those days for nothin'
Oh, It was 1980-somethin'
1970-somethin'
Aw, it was 19-Somethin'

Not stars, SCARS | Reviewer: Sean | 8/29/09

The lyrics are correct as printed. It's scars, not stars. It refers not to the outfit he wore, but all the kids who tried to imitate Knievel's stunt on bikes in their backyard, and ended up crashing and getting scars on their arms and other body parts.

Evel Knievel STARS | Reviewer: Anonymous | 9/25/07

I'm pretty sure it was Evel Knievel STARS
(remember the stars on his fancy motorcycle outfit?)
