I'm a Believer Lyrics

I thought love was only true in fairy tales
Meant for someone else but not for me.
Love was out to get me
That's the way it seemed.
Disappointment haunted all my dreams.

Then I saw her face, now I'm a believer
Not a trace of doubt in my mind.
I'm in love, I'm a believer!
I couldn't leave her if I tried.

I thought love was more or less a givin' thing,
Seems the more I gave the less I got.
What's the use in tryin'?
All you get is pain.
When I needed sunshine I got rain.

Then I saw her face, now I'm a believer
Not a trace of doubt in my mind.
I'm in love, I'm a believer!
I couldn't leave her if I tried.

What a wonderful song I was crazy about those days in 1964~1969.(together with 'Hang On Sloopy by The McCoys) They,Americans tried to defeat British Invasion of the Beatles & The Rolling Stones, but in vain ? However, I really appreciate Neil Diamond making this perfect song and gave it to Micky Dolenz with his Monkees, even though they were TV commercially recruited from everywhere. Whatever & whichever comes I loved them , Neil and Micky! Have you seen them
recently? Give my regards to Michael,Peter and Davy, only Englishman in the group.
