Asthenia Lyrics

Review The Song (16)Print the Lyrics

Last night it came as a picture
With a good reason, a warning sign
This place is void of all passion
If you can imagine it's easy if you try
Believe me I failed this effort
I wrote a reminder this wasn't a vision
This time where are you Houston
Is somebody out there will somebody listen

Should I go back should I go back should I
I feel alone and tired
Should I go back should I go back should I
I hope I won't forget you

My head is made up of memories
Most of them useless delusions
This room is bored of rehearsal
And sick of the boundaries
I miss you so much

Should I go back should I go back should I
I feel alone and tired
Should I go back should I go back should I
This time I don't want to
Should I go back should I go back should I
I feel alone and tired
Should I go back should I go back should I
I hope I won't forget you

Should I go back should I go back should I
I feel alone and tired
Should I go back should I go back should I
This time I don't want to
Should I go back should I go back should I
I feel alone and tired
Should I go back should I go back should I
I hope I won't forget you

Review about Asthenia

The Real Deal | Reviewer: Chris | 11/4/09

John is right, although the song is sung from the point of view of an astronaut, that's not what its about. The entire song is about someone who feels alone in this world, and whose actions have no impact on anything. he narrator wants to get away from this place he lives, but hes not sure what to do, and just feels hopeless.
"this time where are you Houston
Is somebody out there will somebody listen"
This line means that hes calling out for help, but no one will listen, and he feels so alone, much like an

wow | Reviewer: Anonymous | 3/15/09

all you guys are fucking retarded, its is not about space, but you idiots dont know what the word Asthenia means, its fucking medical condition, its weakness, it could be mental weakness or physical weakness. Houston is a metaphor, someone lost in a space would ask houston for help right, well space is huge, he feels lost, what makes lyrics great are metaphors and symbolism... noobs

Direct Quote from Tom Delong | Reviewer: Quit Making Stuff Up | 12/31/08

According to Tom DeLonge, "This song is about one thing only, an astronaut sitting in a space capsule about the size of a car, floating above the earth. He's contemplating if coming back or not will make a difference on such a negative place. A song about the loss of hope. A term was coined for the breakdown of life in space and it is called Asthenia, the name of the track."

your all stupid | Reviewer: john | 12/24/08

This song is actually #1 a tribute to David Bowie's Space Odyssey. #2 Tom wrote this song because he is obsessed with space and is part of a UFO watch group because he thinks he's been analy violated by aliens. Asthenia isn't about the war or deciding to come back to Earth(that's just a lyric in the song) asthenia is an ASTONAUTS FEAR OF BEING LOST IN SPACE WITH NO CONTACT AND NO WAY TO GET BACK.

YOU EITHER HAVE TO STARVE TO DEATH OR KILL YOURSELF.

Listen to the end of this song | Reviewer: Anonymous | 11/19/08

Hey guys this song is about the space thing. If you listen to the end(and the beginning) you can hear radio transmission where the astronausts are talking and then the sound of a rocket lift-off. Besides that, this song is SICK!!! WE MISS YOU BLINK!!!:(

good song | Reviewer: Anonymous | 10/6/08

if you don't actually know what this song is about do not comment on it. It's called Asthenia which is the feelings an astranout may have when he is up in space and he doesn't want to come back to earth. Tom Delonge says in the sleeve notes of blink 182 enhanced that it is about this. So it's not anything about the Vietnam war

Favorite Blink song | Reviewer: Epididymus | 7/29/08

This song rules, its a backlash song against the Vietnam movement seen through a protestors perspective. Feeling alone and tired like those drafted soldiers in the harsh Viet Kong, it all makes sense man I'm stoned right now so you know this is good stuff. Sham Wow!

asthenia | Reviewer: john | 7/26/08

this may just be my opinion but i don't think that they literally mean this is someone in space trying to decide to go back to earth or not. i think that they use metaphors such as Huston and things like that to try to describe that the person is feeling alone, as if he were alone in space cause thats really as alone as you can get. idk though maybe im wrong

Asthenia | Reviewer: Anonymous | 1/15/08

It's about an astronaut who's in space for some reason...and he's alone up there. So looks down on earth, reflects on how bitter and trivial life is, and wonders if he should even bother going back. And the one thing that keeps him from completely not wanting to never go back is a girl, but at the end, he decides to stay, alone. (I hope I wont' forget you)

Great song! | Reviewer: Ryze | 1/12/08

Tiago, I dont believe this has anything to do with space maybe just that hes feeling left out or out of his head after a break up that happened recently.
Houston could just be a metaphor of feeling lost in his head or what ever (remember this is just my own opinion might not be true at all ^,^)
