Here she talks about storms and how she has to be brave even when she doesn't look like it outwardly. She also seems to infer the pain of learning by experience, hard, cold, sad ones perhaps. What she is saying is that inside people who have experienced pain or adversity, there is strength and a desire to rise above it all. I can relate to the "constant craving" of wanting acceptance, a better life, etc. It is a bit sad because she hints that some people will never have it no matter how hard they strive.
