The Reviews about It's Dangerous Business Walking Out Your... (page 1/ 2)
------ performed by Underoath

Metaphors, metaphors, metaphors | Reviewer: Steve | 8/11/09

its not about literal death or suicide or murder. Underoath is a deep band, their lyrics are deep. Its about breaking up with his girlfriends so she can concentrate on her walk with God. what he is singing about is not an accident: "I thought it would be so much quicker than this."

He's not singing about an accident, its Underoath people, their lyrics have a deeper meaning. An emotional meaning... read the lyrics again and think about having to break up with someone you love and how it will (metaphorically) kill you, but how she can then focus on her relationship with God.

This is a beautiful song...

This song means so much to me | Reviewer: mike | 4/13/09

This song has had such an impact on me the past half a year. At first I thought Underoath was a good band, but i didn't listen to them much. My friend introduced me to them, but more specifically, showed me this song. He made me listen to the lyrics in the choir part at the end. I ended up really liking this song.
Around half a year ago that same friend was in a horrible car wreck with his girlfriend. They were both Christian. My friend's girlfriend died on impact and my friend was left in a coma in the hospital for a day before he was taken off life support. The accident happened around a corner on a highway near where i live. We believe they went for a hike in the foothills before it happened. Both of them were buckled in. I just can't believe how much this song resembles what happened that night. I don't take it as a coincidence.

most of you are right, if you combine what you say it makes even more sense | Reviewer: Dude | 3/21/09

a few people have claimed that this song is about a him getting in a car crash with his girlfriend, and your right, somebody else said that it was about a getting in a car crash with his dad, and you might be partly right, and everyone else has claimed its about religion.

"Kiss me one last time ", if this song was about his dad, i doubt he would have sung that but, it does mean he probubly was with his girlfriend and that she died.

for the person who said this was about the dad , "Full speed ahead this seems to be the place
I've seen this once before", you might be right, if he has seen this once before then he is most likely refering to the once before being with his dad.

The religous part, "Now you can walk hand in hand with Him". well that is most likely about god.

I think: in the first verse he is talking about how dreams of how his girlfriend was killed in a car crash, in which he was driving is keeping him up at night. Then he refers to how he had this happen once before with his dad, but how he had planned everything to be perfect, but that was just in his dreams.

in the second verse, so far everyone seems to think the cross means jesus directly, but i think it might mean that, once the car crashed and caught on fire, the flames were really high, and everyone would stop to watch, as everyone does when there is an accident. "Around this turn where the cross will cast your shadow" just around the next turn the cross would cast her shadow,(she would die, as a christian).

Third verse, he is talking about trying to move on, from dreams about her still being with him now.

final versese: well glass shatteres and comes to a halt, they crash, they should have already been home but they got in an accident,he tried to protect her, and religiously as well, so that now that she is dead she would go to heaven.

Possibly several meanings, but guy below me seems right | Reviewer: Anonymous | 12/28/08

This song appears to be subject to many meanings, but I think the guy below me got the main idea, or it could be about his father. My point is that, if these lyrics here are completely correct, the H in "Him" is capitalized, meaning the Him referred to is God.

its called a christian band guys | Reviewer: dd | 12/9/08

this song is totally about a guy who is yes, with his girlfriend, and they get into a car accident.
obviously, this accident kills the girl, causing the poor guy to be left with the pain of knowing he, in a sense, killed his girlfriend. but i think the girl below me is totally wrong about it being "a new boy" or something. i think the "him" she walks hand in hand with is Jesus himself, since she died and went to heaven.
by the way, this is by far the best underoath song. i taste passion whenever i listen to this. haha.
but seriously.
amazing song, amazing band.

car accident. | Reviewer: heather locker | 11/2/08

sounds like hes driving with his girlfriend or ex girl who hes knows has her eye on some other guy and gets into an accident, regardless he made sure she was buckled in, so he put her life before his and he winds up dying and she walks away from the accident, and is with the other guy.

thats another way i looked at it

Ya | Reviewer: Davy H | 10/26/08

This song is amazing, i've been listening to UnderOath since i was 6, now i'm 14 and honestly, the song isn't about dying in a car crash to be with his girlfriend, it's about Spencer Chamberlain's father dying in a car crash, but it opened up a whole new world, that Spencer can bring new meaning to it and preach it as a blessing because now he believes in God, this incident changed his life.

actually... | Reviewer: Madelynn. | 10/22/08

this song is about jesus and how he died to save us.
underoath is a christian band..
im not like really religious or anything but if you think about
read the lyrics with jesus in mind it makes sence

Around this turn where the cross will cast your shadow
The people will all gather
To remember such a day where the flames grew as high
as trees
And the world it stopped, it stopped for you and me

jesus dies on the cross people all watched as he was tourtured and then the world stopped for us because he died the would stopped for you and me means he died for our sins.
i sound like a fucking pastor i know but i also know thats what the song is about.
