wow people. | Reviewer: Anonymous | 11/9/09
This song is very obviously not about drugs. I kind of feel sad that if this is the kind of society we live in today. I believe that this song is about a guy who is very much in love with a married woman, but he doesn't trust himself enough to stay with her.
Not about drugs | Reviewer: Dangeriam | 11/4/09
aight, seriously, this song is definately NOT about drugs. Its about a guy who is seeing this girl who is married. He tells her everything he would do for her, and knows he's the best for her. He tells her everything straight up, he's not going to give her money, and he's not going to give her everything under the sky. When he says "it will be alrigh if you don't ask me to stay" it could mean one of two things: A) once a cheater always a cheater...so in that sense if they did have a relationship, what's to keep her from cheating on him, especially if she did it for him. and the other is that things are better this way. they are fuck buddies for the most part. he's down for everything but a relationship.
Drugs to this? | Reviewer: Alice :D | 9/23/09
Christopher-
I agree with George. This song is totally amazing and its only about drugs if you think about it that way. I've listened to this song since i was little. I sang it as a lullaby for babies a put asleep. In no way is this related to drugs unless you put it in that context. Well i guess ill go join the other naive people.
Drugs? | Reviewer: George | 6/29/09
Christopher,
Call us what you want, but I personally think it would be naive to claim that songs about drugs aren't listened to by the masses. White Lines is a song by Grand Master Flash back in the 70's about cocaine, I still hear it today.
A decent portion of mainstream rap is about Drugs and listened to by a wide variety of people, so to claim that Uncle Kracker is disguising his song about drugs in the form of love with a woman is a little ridiculous.
I personally have to idea what Uncle Kracker was trying to say so I do not plan on making an assumption, but I just thought I would put my opinion forth so as to try to join the rest of the "stupid fucken naive Americans".

Uncle Addict | Reviewer: Christopher | 6/16/09
Drugs!!!
Dont know how you met me (addicts never really remember the first step they take toward being an addict)
Dont know why, you cant turn around and say goodbye (Addicts all know what they doing is stupid/bad/wrong but they cant leave it)
All you know is that when Im with you I make you free (they just know they like the feeling of drugs and that they think of nothing else when high)
Swim through your veins like a fish in the sea (obvious symbolism)
Everything is alright (Addicts favourite thoughts)
I'll be the one to tuck you in at night (pass out or die)
And if you want to leave I can guarantee you wont find nobody else like me. (nothing/nobody can make you feel like drugs do)
I dont care bout the ring you wear (2 meanings - 1. The ring to pump your veins. 2. Ring symbolic of marriage which in many married peoples lives is the most important thing/relationship to them... drugs dont care about that and will eventually become the most important thing/relationship.)
Cause as long as no one knows Then nobody can care (Emphasis on the CAN... Drug addicts dont want people to find out because then people show that they care by means of Rehab which ends the relationship with drugs)
It is obviously disguised as a relationship with a married woman because singing about drugs is taboo and isnt listened to by the masses!
Now go shoot up all you stupid fucken naive Americans!!!

hmmm.... | Reviewer: Hannah | 3/31/09
this song is amazing! it reminds me of this strange relationship i have with a guy that was singing it to me the other day(weird i know). Because i like him, and everyone knows except him,it's kinda obvious. But he thinks that i just like this guy. So in a way im scared that he knows since the song is about someone thats cheating(the guy he thinks i like) and since he makes me happier than anyone ive ever known. yeah... weirds.
song discussion | Reviewer: molly | 11/6/08
This is a really beautiful song, and it reminds me in a way of the strange relationship I have with someone right now. The song strikes me as very sad though... obviously the girl in the song is very much in love with him or she wouldn't risk her relationship with her husband to stay with him. He tells her that he'll spend time with her, and "tuck you in at night," and fake a loving relationship, but the very second she tries to get him to stay with her; tries to make sure she doesn't lose him, he'll leave her without a backward glance.
