ridiculous | Reviewer: newlyu2ed | 7/12/09

This song, I think, encompasses all the requirements of rock 'n roll legend and soul. The complete slowing down to the manic craze of the music does to your mind and heart what a several million dollar movie scene could never do. In the rattle and hum version of this song, the guitar strum that begins right after "So the hands that build/Can also bring down," etches an entire tale and experience (of the song's muse) in my head. ridiculous, simply ridiculous.

desperation | Reviewer: weldr | 5/8/09

The power of the music and the rising and falling desperation of the vocals gives me a background for the gunslinger, Roland of Stephen King's Dark Tower series. If a movie were made of the Dark Tower, I feel that this song must be included. Especially during the "Drawing of the Three" segment.

Amazing song about a hard subject ! | Reviewer: Anonymous | 11/5/08

This song is one of the best U2 songs !! The lyrics are hard, painfull, but in many cases true. The power in this song, is that it tells a story by lyric and instrument. Larry slams his drums, like shots out of a gun, and if you listen close, you can hear a heartbeat that pounds very fast, and gets slower and slower, until it stops. Amazing work from Adam !

A dark picture | Reviewer: K | 6/21/06

A song from a time when U2 was more sentiment than flamboyance. I can feel into this song, it gives you that sensation of being trapped, and although the lyrics are very straighforward in what they want to communicate, I feel it's simplicity what makes this song work so well.
