ITs an awesome place but the shit thing is we dont get many goods bands often. However I managed to see Trivium live in Jan 2007 and it was absolutely AMAZING. Heafy's voice and guitaring was bang on, as was the rest of the band, and fortunately for me I got to be on the front row screaming every word. I highly recommend anyone to go to one of their shows if it arrives, they are a fantastic emerging band and although come under quite a bit of critisizm, as Corey said in an interview to the media "when you can play better than us and have as much passion for music then critisize us all you want. It's apparent you disagree with their style, and so you can't possibly judge them. Some people are stupid | Reviewer: Justin | 2/22/07 Ok i got a guy saying that trivium will never be the next metallica because metallica wasnt trying to sound like anyone else they did their own thing well if you knew anything about trivium thats exactly why matt and trivium stopped the metalcore its because hey wanted to do thrash theyre not trying to sound like metallica theyre just being true to themselves so what if it sounds like them we dont go accusing that all that remains is tring to sound like killswitch do we and who is anyone to say theyre not [true metal] the answer is there is no true metal there are many kinds of metal. then theyre saying that the riff in pull harder sounds like someone elses riff well let me tell you this how many guitar riffs have been made like 498,154,981,509 exactly every now and then there bound to sound alike that doesnt mean that the music isnt original and the guy up there says hes tired of the emo choruses no part of their chorus is emo please go kill yourself and then there are name dropping your so called bands opeth and amorphis you say are true metal so how come theyre not on the cover of metal magazines obviously this guy thinks he knows about genres but he doesnt because thats the thing about genres theyre flexible and you can create one if you wanted and now the solos you say solos dont make metal your right but to go and say they that heafy is trying to hard actually hes not trying at all have you ever seen him play solos he plays them with no effort and most are absolutely brilliant. solos actually boost the integrity of a song make it more appealing to the ear most songs are so repetitive without a solo and then we have album sales that just says it all doesnt it so if you dont like trivium stop soming up with the same bullshit accusations that theyre not true metal. So far trivium has sounded soo good i got into this type of music. but to put trivium down and compaire it to other bands is a Your personal oppinnion. you said trivium isnt this or that....but if u try and find the perfect band with perfect drumming best vocals originality... then u can have it.. because frankly i dont think it exsists. yea metalica was good but what happened to them when the fame kicked in and they were all over mtv? they're originality declinedand it didnt sound the same anymore like there older songs. Ascendency, their latest album, has been a huge success and the fans love it. There is a HUGE number of Trivium fans out there and personally i think Matt Heafy is an amazing vocalist, let alone guitarist. his screaming fits the melotunes very well. the choruses are different, original and yet some are simple, like in "The Deceived" but it was catchy and kept you listening. Some stuff is original some isn't, deal with it because people love it. And for a chick like me to love Trivium, they must be good. They got me into screaming heavy music.
