If anything, Dave Matthews Band is just an American version of the Tragically Hip. Your right about the fact that this is an awesome song though. It is from one perspective about a mobster and his thoughts and insights of his lifestyle. "It'd be better for us if you don't understand It'd be better for us if you don't understand" The famous "fuggetaboutit" On the other hand he is the victim that is being locked in the trunk of a car. " Let me out let me out let me out let me out " So it could be viewed as from either perspective..even an observer. This is perfect example of Gord's picture painting songstyle.If I had to recommend one song to someone who never heard of the Hip or just a lesser known one..This is it. four stars!!
