Love tool | Reviewer: Jarrod | 4/4/09
Great song. The song is clearly about universal oneness and how human beings must divide the universe into 2 seperate, managable parts by labling and judging in order to make sense of things. We need enemies, we need friends, we need right and wrong, black and white. It simplifies things for us.

many poets have expressed this concept in the past, but typically they expressed it as individual events. my view is that tool has moved up the root a bit more toward the trunk, than the previous artists, to expess these human characteristics (creating deities and angels to represent the unknown, and the narcissistic behavior). i like tool a lot, and they do expess this with just feeling in this song. i love the music.
wow | Reviewer: musical scholar | 1/9/09
when i first heard this song, i was right away impressed by the smooth styling, good rythms...but the lyrics, wow just watch the music video and tell me what you think, thats really disturbing, and im a bit baffled as well, it really gives you the goosbumps

I love how Tool members act almost like shrinks: they open your eyes to something that's in front of your nose, except they do it in a perfectly composed way with no bullshittin' and no expense. I love all of their songs 'cuz they take you on a journey through those forsaken places in your mind. An absolute masterpiece

this song is very true. and yes, tool soes kick major ass. But the meanings behind the lyrics to me is primitive choice. We are born as selfish and needy and completley depend an one another. From the time of birth, till the time of death. And nothing will change that.
sad but true | Reviewer: Ruben | 8/10/08
This song describes man as a whole. We've enough for man's need, not mans greed. Given a gift of consiousness and understanding, we use it to fight for land. Given extremitys to take advantage of our greater understanding, but only use them to forge blades to strike our brother down. Fight for anything and everything,. Sickend by our capability to look to the heaven and understand but die over land, so to cut it right in two. Angels on the sidelines again.

Every time I listen to this song, I get lost in it. Every second is perfect. From the slow start to the explosive ending, from the intense message to the melodic touch always present in Tool's music, this song stands as a landmark in the Tool community. It holds a spot in my heart and my mind, as it opens up all my emotions and opinions at once. Tool has made some great songs, but nothing that compares to this!
