He was planning on being a Navy diver, but things changed when he decided to get out and go into show buisiness. I remember his father coming to the base and makng a special apearence and then he was gone. He told me he was going to try out for the role of Robin in the movie Batman 2. I am not sure of what happened but the next thing I knew he was a country star. I am happy for him and he was always a great erson to me. We even went to a baseball game together on the way back frm a trip to Hammond/gary Indiana. I sing "My Little Girl" to my own little girl every night at bedtime; she loves that song so much. And as a little sidenote to those who keep harping on about McGraw's political viewpoints: in case you've forgotten, we live in a country in which people are allowed to have different opinions. Also, just because he is a democratic supporter does not make him "Hollywood," "politically correct," or a "lying cheating stealing husband," nor does it mean he wishes to be exactly like the Clintons. Would you prefer he want to emulate Bush, who despite all factual evidence that this "war" is unwinnable, refuses to admit that he was wrong, and would rather continue to send our men and women to their deaths?
