I had a friend who recently passed away at 16. This song reminds me of her. It's exactly how I feel. Good thing the love and the laughter will live on long after all of the sadness and the tears. This is a beautiful song

This song really hits home for me. I've always liked this song so much. It has always been one of the greatest songs that I personally thought was written. On Dec 15, 2010, I lost my 21 yr old Best Friend in a car accident in our hometowm of Odessa, TX. It means alot to me now because I think about him when i play this song. I miss him and I'll always hold this song close to my heart. Miss ya Byron Monahan.

It is hard to grasp the true meaning of this song unless you have lost someont very close to you...

4 years ago last month, one of my best friends died due to a rodeo accident. A horse rolled over on him and crushed his heart. He is truely my old friend and every year on the anniversary of his death this song mysteriously plays on my radio, reguardless of the station. I sincerely apologize for the years that have passed since the last time that he and I have dusted off those memories...

We'll meet again, my old friend....

I absolutely love this song! Every time I hear it, it brings tears to my eyes! My best friend passed away a few months ago at the age of 24. His death was accidental, and every day he crosses my mind and I think about him constantly! I loved him and always watched out for him and we were always there for each other through everything! We were like "partners in crime." And I miss him dearly, and we'll find each other again by the grace of God. My dog i had for 15 years of my life has just passed he was the only one when i had a bad,sad,angrey day i would go in my room and their he was and i wouldnt feel those emotions anymore i would just be inlightend with happeness and laughter cause he would just love me and make me feel better and it stinks when u have to say goodbye but its not forever....i love u buddy and i miss u,,,,,

I also had a horse that passed away quite recently. And since I was such a nerdy kid in school, my mare was my only childhood friend. She was the first horse I ever touched and rode. When I was little, I'd groom her and tell her about my day, lol. This song brings me to tears everytime I listen to it.

so, one of my horses have just passed away, and i heard this song.. and although its supose to be about a human, roger (my horse) was my best friend.. he taught me everything i know about horses; i miss him so much, this song is our song. i listen to it everyday.. and everytime to go to see him. love you buddy. xoxox.

It reminds me of a long lost love. We recently patched up closure from several years ago. We both have different lives and are both married with children and live in different states. He was my first love which makes him my old friend and we will meet up someday with good lord.
