In my part of the world (Atlantic Canada), we pronounce the 'o' in "shone" short (as in 'shawn'), but many people pronounce it as a long 'o'. That makes it sound like your "shown", but "shone" makes more sense in the context of the other lyrics, which talk about the sun shining down.
