All Three Dog Nights! | Reviewer: Connie Stanifer | 5/5/09
Thank you for not leaving out Chuck Negron as so many do. They were a great group together and are still loved so much by their fans. Chuck is singing solo and touring and has a hug fan base and sounds wonderful. He does a lot of benefits as well. Good soul.
A Band Ahead of Its Time(s) | Reviewer: L CHill | 2/3/09
I LOVE Three Dog Night even split up w/Chuck singing w/Blood, Sweat & Tears & all the problems they have today. They had the greatest songs and the best ever stage show (Good Feeling 1957, if you've seen it ya know what I mean). And I never realized at the time w/Floyd being the drummer & being black that it was such a big deal. I never thought of it at all until about a year ago when I read a retro review, that no other "white" rock band had any one of color in their midst! Floyd is the drummer & ya just expect him to be there when they take the stage because he is one of the original 7 members of the band & that's that & the way it is! I saw them every time they came to San Antonio,TX in their heyday (about 7 times?) except the 1st time when they were warmup for Vanilla Fudge (I think). In 1972 they got here but their equipment didn't so it wasn't the best show so my best friend & I flew to Dallas to see them in the Cotton Bowl. That was an awesome show, opening w/B. W. Stevenson (now gone) & Rod Stewart & Small Faces (yes, THE Rod Stewart) was Act #2 & then the headliners: 3 DOG NIGHT!!! Sometimes Imiss those crazy days but then I look @ my 2 year old grandson, RaShawn & know I am in the best days now.
The greatest '70's band. | Reviewer: Jerry Leviton | 1/27/09
This band has to be one of the greatest ever.
I was around 18 years old when they started, and I attended 3 of their concerts in Memphis, Tn.
"The Dog" had the very best sound around.I still get chills every time I hear one of their songs--truly my favorite Rock & roll Group!!
I once heard that they were the most popular group around right after The Beatles.
I hope all the original guys are doing ok.
God Bless
Play it and weep... | Reviewer: Phyllisa | 4/26/07
Don't know why this song affects me like it does, but, for some reason, whenever I hear this song, it makes me weep. It is that soulful... Through the years, I dig it out every spring, and it always has its same effect on me... love the lyrics, the music, and the rendition by Three Dog Night, well, words cannot describe what a musical masterpiece they made of it... When I count my musical blessings, "Pieces of April" automatically comes into my mind, heart, and soul.
It is simply awesome.
Three Dog Night | Reviewer: Daniel Barr | 4/12/07
I think Three Dog Night is an excellent band an doesn't get near enough recognition. I'm 14 years old and I listen to Three Dog Night because they are a really good band, when just about all the other music is crap (Such as Heavy Metal, Death Metal, Rap, or any other type of Metal music in my opinion.) Three Dog Night has done one thing that few bands are able to do...endure.
