The Reviews about I Can See For Miles (page 1/1)
------ performed by The Who

re: One of the WHO's greatest hits ever, not | Reviewer: alex g | 10/14/09

The WHO SELL OUT ranks as one of the all time double albums, a work of sheer genius. But, you won't find the WHO performing I Can See For Miles live, ever. The WHO crafted this incredible (for 1967) album, and released I Can See For Miles as the hit that would establish them as a top British power. Unfortunately the album only caught on in a cult type manner, amongst a small elite number of fans, and Miles was a moderate hit, but did not come anywhere close to # 1 ranking in the UK. Pete Townsend was really miffed over this and threw his copy of the album into his stereo turntable.

Townsend admitted as much for the cover art and metadata for the double album CD (Who Sell Out was released as a single vinyl album in the US originally). It was not until years later, and Tommy, that the Who lived up to their monetary and artistic potential, according to US fans.

the hit that should have been | Reviewer: Anonymous | 10/12/09

This is one of the Who's greatest songs ever. It was supposed to be THE big hit from THE WHO SELL OUT, one of their very best, but overlooked, albums. They are still disappointed by this songs lack of success, and to this day they refuse to play it live.

while waiting for Tommy | Reviewer: Anonymous | 3/13/09

The Who were busy working on Tommy, and it was taking quite a long time to make, so Townshend wrote this song so the Who could put out a single and make sure the public hadn't forgotten them. So this was sort of a stop gap, let's-make-a-hit affair whilst the real masterpiece was being constructed in the background. And considering that, it's frightfully good. The urgency in the guitar rifs is terrific and Daltry's vocals are in top form. The muddy production is a bit frustrating, however, and the I Can See For Miles refrain gets a bit tiresome.

That JUST may be,.....Taj Mahal I CAN see...... | Reviewer: David Oliver | 9/13/07

HELLO! Hey, I could Definitely be wrong, but, I think that the correct lyrics to the line, "Well, that's as may be," are actually "Well, that's JUST may be,"......

Likewise, the line "The Taj Mahal are mine to see........" is, I think, "The Taj Mahal I can see........"

Now, if I am mistaken about this, will you PLEASE let me know?.....THANK YOU!
