The melody is absolutely beautiful. Pete Townshend is a genius. He wrote this song about a boyfriend and girlfriend on a plane together that is about to crash. I can't imagine the horror of knowing that you're about to die. He captures what is going on in their minds in such a heart-wrenching way. The melody is so pure, it sticks in my head.
