The Reviews about Eminence Front (page 2/ 2)
------ performed by The Who

eminence front | Reviewer: Anonymous | 2/3/08

just reading it it sounds like the eminence front is how we mislead ourselves and others about our greatness or dominance. the lyrics go from talking about the way we present ourselves as individuals, like being dressed to kill, and also the lines about stocks sound like hes expanding that idea to the way we do business, always trading favorably, if not exploitatively. like hes saying western culture is full of fronts and put-ons and when its rubbed in our face by big events like stocks crashing or the aging of our bodies, we just forget and move on. maybe thats just my spin. if he said he wrote it on acid then im kinda impressed.

Great song | Reviewer: David | 9/8/07

First time i heard this song I was in a record (yes record) shop in Bluefield, WV. Was pretty much overwhelmed by the sound of it all as a whole. But was most impressed with Pete's voice.

Phonies | Reviewer: Mark | 7/21/07

I love this song, was especially glad they played it last year. originally for the beat but then the lyrics got to me, sums up the whole reason why I don't go to bars anymore. Why can't anyone just be themself? I come from a government city where everyone seems to just be another brick in the wall. also being a smoker, and hating alcohol, its hard for me to relax and unwind while everyone is in a binge all around me.

Remembering the 80's | Reviewer: Pete | 4/24/07

This song sparks a lot in the mind of those who lived in the 80's. At some point in our lives, we all had an eminence front. We put on our suits and ties and act like we were superior (fake it til you make it). Those people are forced, some by their work or their nightlife, to forget who they are. Then there are those that are living the dual life that "forget they're hiding". This kind of living will continue for generations and generations, whether good or bad. Just don't forget who you are, and put the Eminence front on, "it's a put-on".

All my love,
Pete :-)
