Second, I know everyone "hears" what they hear in any given song, but I would SO like to sit down with Pete and ask him what was going on in his life or in his head when he wrote this. That song was written thirty years before Gothika's plot was even conceived, when Townshend was in his mid-to-late twenties and following the teachings of an spiritual Indian guru. The song can have a lot of meanings ranging from isolation to loneliness to unrequited love's frustration. Don't think it was written to express the rapper's emotions.
