First, THANK YOU to "Anonymous" for setting everyone straight about Pete Townshend being exonerated on the child porn charge.

Second, I know everyone "hears" what they hear in any given song, but I would SO like to sit down with Pete and ask him what was going on in his life or in his head when he wrote this. None of us is probably even CLOSE to figuring it out. I find this song to be great music and interesting/cool lyrics! My favorite part of the song is:
When my fist clenches, crack it open
Before I use it and lose my cool
When I smile, tell me some bad news
Before I laugh and act like a fool
And If I swallow anything evil
Put your finger down my throat
And If I shiver, please give me a blanket
Keep me warm, let me wear your coat

I love this song & Pete Townsend is way cool | Reviewer: Anonymous | 5/18/2007

Pete Townsend is a very talented and gifted artist, and this song is brilliant. In order to create something truly original and meaningful, it is necessary to look at our own dark side. We all have one, and those of us who can honestly expose it and examine it (and it certainly doesn't mean you've necessarily acted upon it) are the ones who can create magic like this beautiful song.

Are you fucking retarded? Like honestly, how dumb do you have to be to accuse one of the greatest songwriters of all time of being such a sick demented individual? Do you even watch the news? They searched all of his houses, every single one, and they found not a trace of child porn on there. So stop with your Pete hating bullshit, and stop thinking too much into the damn song, he wrote the song years before he was even accused of child pornography, you'd have to be mentally retarded to make such a connection. An amazing song, and you sir are a retard to think of that.

again , how can i tell u that this song impressed me so much ?! the only thing i can say , is the fact that "WORDS CAN NOT SAY" about this song !!!

Unbelievable | Reviewer: Anonymous | 4/17/2007

I think the problem is that you (the one that just saw Gothika) are automatically linking the original meaning of the song's lyrics to that (pretty lame) movie plot. That song was written thirty years before Gothika's plot was even conceived, when Townshend was in his mid-to-late twenties and following the teachings of an spiritual Indian guru.

The song can have a lot of meanings ranging from isolation to loneliness to unrequited love's frustration. Don't think it was written to express the rapper's emotions.

By the way, it was proved that Townshend had actually reported the existence of that infamous child porn page to the authorities. He was cleared inmediately after finding that(The only reason he was suspected in the first place is because the page had been found in his internet registry, and he could have easily stumbled upon it by accident as no other pages of the kind could be found.)

me | Reviewer: Dallas | 12/23/2006

This song reminds me so much of my own life no one knows the pain and torment that I have to force down into my soul. I can't allow myself to feel vulnerable to anything or anyone and this song reminds me everytime I hear it that my feelings will most likely never change. No one will ever know what its like behind my blue eyes.

Reminding Me | Reviewer: George | 9/9/2006
