Second, I know everyone "hears" what they hear in any given song, but I would SO like to sit down with Pete and ask him what was going on in his life or in his head when he wrote this. None of us is probably even CLOSE to figuring it out. I find this song to be great music and interesting/cool lyrics! In order to create something truly original and meaningful, it is necessary to look at our own dark side. That song was written thirty years before Gothika's plot was even conceived, when Townshend was in his mid-to-late twenties and following the teachings of an spiritual Indian guru. The song can have a lot of meanings ranging from isolation to loneliness to unrequited love's frustration. Don't think it was written to express the rapper's emotions. By the way, it was proved that Townshend had actually reported the existence of that infamous child porn page to the authorities. He was cleared inmediately after finding that(The only reason he was suspected in the first place is because the page had been found in his internet registry, and he could have easily stumbled upon it by accident as no other pages of the kind could be found.)
