Beethoven ~V~ Classic Rock | Reviewer: Dresden Shamus | 1/22/08
"good song, but.... | Reviewer: music lover | 11/6/2007
"this one beats Beethoven, Verdi,..."
Oh my God. Not even remotely close. The best, most complex rock song ever written is child's play compared to the simplest thing Beethoven ever did. Good song, but let's not get crazy....."
Lets get this straight now you philistine...
"The best, most complex rock song ever written is child's play compared to the simplest thing Beethoven ever did."
This is simply a sterotype and an oversight. Pull your head out of your ass. Dont get me wrong, I love Beethoven, but most HEAVY METAL, and that includes some classic rock, is based on classical music. In fact, a lot of guitarists are CLASSICALLY TRAINED. As far as timing and composition, Beethoven would probably not be seen with the snobby pretentious types that listen to his nusic. He would probably be down in the pits with the rest of the dregs playing hard-core, elecronically enhanced instruments.
So blow goats.

Vietnam | Reviewer: Mike | 12/31/07
First off their the greatest live band ever "allah" Concert for NYC, Live at Leeds. Anyway this song is about American Soldiers in Vietnam War. "Teenage Wasteland" is in reference to the 18 year old soldiers who are killed in the war. Pete Townshend writes "its only teenage wasteland" sarcastically.
Great Song | Reviewer: Leah | 12/31/07
I love this song a lot. My parents and my brothers got me into it along time ago. My brothers can play it really great, and our walls are thin, so I hear it alot.
An old fart responds | Reviewer: old fart | 12/27/07
Well, I'm not even going to pretend I liked/knew who the Who were when this came out. I didn't discover this track on some 'musical journey' either: it was on Episode 1 of "Life on Mars", the DVD box set of which I got for Christmas. And since I'm a 44 year-old old fart who knows nothing about music but loved this, I reckon Tash above got it about right.

ingenious!!! | Reviewer: danzegerman | 11/16/07
love this song... and was fortunate enough to hear them playing it live in Munich last summer...
@music lover: to be honest I'm not much into classical music, but if one must compare beethoven with theWho i reckon you always have to keep in mind the context of the time... and theWho definitely had a great impact on their generation and still today's generations... as far as I am concerned theWho amongst other rock artists of the time gave me many inspiring impulses, whereas classical music seems to be more a highly sophisticated form of entertainment... but what da hell do I know!?
my god i love it | Reviewer: Alex | 11/14/07
I play this song whenever I need cheering up and it works everytime, it just makes me smile, like one of those big beaming smiles that you just end up looking like a f**king retard. i love it.
