Nothing means as much to me as this song (Other then "I am Loco" by Ill Nino). I don't see how anyone could see it as skin deep. I understand that it's attempting to show an issue of a young and confused person, but to me its shallow and asinine. Has the popular theory on music swerved toward a belief where a talented musician is one who can play their instrument really quickly, can shriek when singing or must resort to profanity in order to complain to his audience? I can't help but think that either music has regressed greatly or that those listening to this music are absolute idiots. I mean, think on what this musician is saying to you: "Would you be my thousand fucks?"--> this is just stupid. The whole meaning of the song pretty much boils down to: "I feel as though I am no longer myself and I don't want to pretend that I am this person anymore, etc. etc. The most simple solution to my pain (broken heart), is to cut myself/commit suicide." It's cowardly and daft and completely incapable of touching on any true emotions. Emotions like those mentioned in this song are far too extreme or harsh to ever be real. I should hope that in reality this person's feelings are more complex, because otherwise I'll only think he's a twit. This is the stuff written for people who are daft enough to think it has meaning and vulnerable enough to be inspired by it. I'm just not sure how any musician can live with themselves for having created a song that can hypnotise groups of kids and make them choose poor decisions by hurting themselves. This kind of music is not "art" at all. It's nonsense and its emo and it's a sign of a lack of talent in music nowadays.
