if people cut because somebody sings about it, or tells about it, without telling it's a bad thing, because... wtf? Everybody should know it's not good, you shouldn't need to tell people that.
And if you do it because somebody you love do, or because someboy tells you to do it, then there's sth wrong with you, seriously.
I've cut, and I know people who've cut, and they've got more of a reason then a fucking song, and they know it's wrong, so do I.

okay now the first time i heard this song i was like "Wtf...?" which is most peoples reaction to the intro but really it is a song with meaning and just because it's "emo" it doesn't make it a bad song!
It is probably my favourite song. it has really good screamo and has a tune and meaning unlike what someone below me said crap rap songs "yo yo yo lolipop yo yo yo" ... wow great message about lolipops....

I think Bert should have included some kind of messgae that cuttin gis not the only way, and their are better methods of relief. In the song "the jet set life is gonna kil you" by MCR, they address that they have done drugs, but they wouldnt like to see there fans react that way to what life deals them.. I just think they should be careful what impressions they're giving off to adolecents.

So this song is actually really deep, and I can't believe some of you will actually take it and turn it into a rip on The Used. If you don't like the lyrics, don't listen to them? It's that simple. But for most of the musically challenged, you would think of bashing this song.

When I first heard this song, I thought about how much feeling is in his voice. I also realized how much I relate to it. So seriously, get something better to do than bash on really good songs.

I keep in touch with Bert as much as a I can, and surprisingly he hasn't become a fantastic ass cuz of all the fame.. But anyway; we talk about his lyrics sometimes.. at least we did once. The first album was about moving on from his problems, generally speaking; he was trying to get better so bad. In Love and Death is kind of his downfall more or less because he was going through a lot of fucking shit.

If you listen to all their stuff, you'll realize if you look in depth with the lyrics that it's all a big ying-yang. The Bird And The Worm is no different.. He's the worm, his past is the bird; get it? He can't escape it no matter how hard he tries, it's a part of him, so he feels fake.

I know half of you aren't going to believe me that I know him, but just try to remember he wasn't always a big rockstar and was a normal joe like the rest of us that did come from a hometown and was just a regular teenager..

This is a great song that most normal people can't understand. I swear to God that I have asked over 3,000 people about this song and they all replied 'Yes, I love the song. No, I don't know what it means or stands for'. I was like, WTF?

I'll have to say that The Used has come a long way; and have made it greater through time. From one song, to another, the idea of feeling something that only few can feel is still alive with them.

This song makes perfect sense. The text is thought out, and it gets the point across. It makes me feel like they can connect in a way most humans cannot.

For those of you who say "OOO. CUTTING R 4 PUSSIZ," why don't you go through some of the shit we've gone through? How about you step into our shoes, and maybe look at the way we do. Some people have different views, some people see what good comes in some of the taboo.

The used is a great band no matter what everyone says i've like them for a long ass time now.This song i think anybody can relate to cuz alot of ppl are fake at times this song is talking about how he cant be who he wants to be how he wants to be and who he wants to be around alot of familes are fake really at get to gethers and things ppl are always talk bad about someone but to there face there nice as can be

and the whole profanity thing? profanity is a part of every day life you retards, it has seeped into our common english language, especially in the teenage years, if this song is about teenagers, then why not include their "slang" language. Profanity is just another way too express yourself by emphasizing what you're saying. the fuck thing? you fuck to feel alive, some say, and being a teenagers is just about experience, and learning, becoming something, so your fucking to feel, fucking for experience, it's more metaphorical than it is physically saying "go fuck people". teenage-hood is also about relationships, being rejected and eing accepted by the other corrospondent, the upset you feel by this.
i don't know why this is a controversy to the meaning of this song for you guys... considering no-one gives a fuck what you all think :)

Well god fucking damn it. I don't even know how to deal with some of these people.
We can all agree - cutting is generally. But I can see how it helps people. It's fairly simple, if you give yourself physical pain, it helps get rid of your emotions and stress. The sight of blood, for most people, is a wake up call, and makes them feel alive. Fuck all of you who say that everyone does it for attention. That is not fucking true. Some people do, but there are people out there that cut and NO ONE knows. Ever written an entire love letter in blood? I have. Works like a charm. "Actions speak louder than words", well, there's an action that people can't argue with. At least, with blood, its the highest price, and people know that you are serious about your feelings.
NO, I'm NOT fucking emo, and I don't cut. Just that once. People need to realize that emo IS normal (hint - EMOtional). To not have any fucking emotions in this world is stupid, because there is so much to feel, even if it hurts, its better than being numb. What's the point of living if you don't feel ALIVE?!

Right, so I had to go back like fucking five pages to see this famous Greg guy everyones been talking about and I have to say, sheesh! He wasn't worth all that attention. I mean his statement was so ridiculous and over the top like, he said something like how people can't feel those emotions described in the song.....like wow. You guys don't need to get mad over his silly little comment because he must have lost his brain cells as he started to write it, psst, what an idiot. ANYWAY, this song is great and expresses A LOT of peoples emotions! And sometimes, people don't listen to the lyrics, they listen to the screaming in the song to let out their fucking anger that day. I feel BAD anger almost everyday and usually for no reason. Shit I get mad when the wind blows. Too much emotion in me. Now THAT is more unreal Greg, but its real. Too much anger, uh uh, no good. Butt wtf can I do? And I'm bi, an angry bi. Better cause for more fights and jumpings anyone? Sigh. So yeah, lyrics help in the song as well but it could just be the vocals. What REALLY helps me is when I sing the song, and SCREAM it loud! Damn, I wish I could burn these songs onto a CD so I could blast it LOUD to the world!
