'I'll be just fine, pretending I'm not'. When we go through hard times people have a perception of how things will hit us, sometimes it the wait is worse than the blow, as a result we often feel guilty for not feeling as 'bad' or 'sad' as we perhaps think we should, so we put on a show we pretend we are not fine because thats how we think we ought to be acting. All that I've got is just this pretense of how you think I am feeling, this facade that I hang out to show and fool you. Just my idea. Thats why there is a tombstone with KATE on it. IN LOVE & DEATH is pretty much written for her, because Bert was going through a hard time losing her, hence the name "In Love and Death". There you go, I have been a The Used fan for 6 years, going on 7 now, I know what I'm talking about. They have been my favorite band since I was 13. And I'm now 19. But they are getting pretty overrated which really bothers me, and thats why i have drifted away from listening to them as much, due to how many people like them now, and half of them dont even know their whole story and the meaning behind ANY of their songs. They just think that their songs describe "them" or "what they are going through", when the song doesnt mean anything that they are saying. =] Like in "Taste of Ink", they are talking about breaking free out of their town, and actually making something of themselves, and how they are going to cherish every moment they will go through. And in "Box Full of Sharp Objects" its talking about how its their time to make something of themselves, and that they are glad they made the band, and how it has made them stronger.
