timeless perfection | Reviewer: erica | 11/28/2008
Last time I heard this song on the radio, I was cruising up West Grand Boulevard in Detroit last summer, right past the Motown Museum, with "Ball Of Confusion" pounding out the car windows, singing along who-cares-how-loud. If you like your tunes with some meat on their bones, you need a good helping of this.
Powerful Motown | Reviewer: zipzap | 11/21/2008
This song could appear if it were just written yesterday, considering the current times; gun control, unemployment, taxation, war, national loyalty, etc. But... The band played on!
A remake would surely ruin it's pure genius and spirit. I don't like remakes of the great classics, with rare exception. The original is a must hear!
Motown's most interesting group | Reviewer: Colin, London | 5/23/2008
I think the Temptations were the most interesting group in Motown history. Of sourse, they went through many changes of lineup, but some things were very distinctive, such as David Ruffin's gruff vocal, the slightly smoother sound of Dennis Edwards, the falsetto of Eddie Kendricks and of course the rich baritone of Melvyn Franklyn. Of those four, I believe only Edwards is still with us.
As for the group's material, they had the gentle ballads like My Girl, Since I Lost My Baby, It's Growing and Just My Imagination, mid-tempo tunes like Ain't Too Proud To Beg and Treat Her Like A Lady, and hard hitting social commentaries like Cloud Nine, Ball Of Confusion, Take A Look Around, and Papa Was A Rolling Stone. The only one of their big hits which doesn't seem to slot into any category is the party style Can't Get Next To You.

WOW what a song and what a group! This is an amazing song that is so strong even now with things being what they are. The frustration just builds in the song and then BANG! they come streaming in with "ball of confusion." The beat and the tempo are perfect, the entire song is very well put together.
Modernize | Reviewer: James Moore | 11/7/2007
Great song! It brings back memories of when my dad would play the Temptations over and over on the turntable. This was way back when 45s were not just bullets.
It would be interesting if some progressive band or hard core rap group would work the lyrics a little and remake this song. Throw some references to out-of-control starlets and terrorism and you've got a hit!
Tesla cover rocks hard, great groove. | Reviewer: Anonymous | 9/28/2007
I havent heard the original version, just Tesla's cover of it on their Reel to Reel cd. I was shocked to find out it was a temptations tune, as it was kinda of heavy and guitar-ladden to be a mo-town tune, plus all the other covers on the cd are really true to the originals. Well I guess i should go find an original copy and check it out, TESLA rips this one, a must hear.
