actually this song was written by carl barat (libertines) not peter years before pete and kate met and is about some girl with a drug addiction. mrs. brown is a metapher for heroin as often used in songs.

It isn't about Kate Moss, It's about Katie Brown..it says in the song "Mrs Brown". I heard that Mrs Brown is the mother of his child? I am no too sure though. :) Also I heard that "What Katy Did Next" is about Kate Moss.

i love this song and think it is one of the libertines classics. Although admitatlly the group have had some woe ful songs released, its a song like this that bring them back to where they should be. i belive pete is a legend and is living the life i and i am certain many of us wish to live. And to have katie there as well is a not bad achievment. i believe the two of them are strong and are as one. We all know that pete's had some problems with drugs but with out them would we be listening to some of the great songs he has released? i think not. Great site and to pete and kate, keep livin it.

this song (not just because it has my name in it or the fact that when i met peter doherty he said that he would play that very song for me in his show that took place an hour later ha ha) anyway, this song is such an amazing song as a hugemongous fan of the libertines AND babyshambles i feel it is only right to praise this song for its rhythm, style and class. it sounds like it was taken from the 70's and its so catchy and such that anybody's just got to love it. its the kinda song that will stick in your head for hours but not in the bad way, in the way that you can smile and dnce down the street singine that song and everyone will look and say boy, thats one cool dude.... shoop shoop shoop de lang a lang..... :)
