For "Paint it Black," I don't think she was inspired by the Rolling Stones song but, since she saw all of the black trucks, she wanted the red ones to be black, too, so it could be a possibility of him driving by.
This song is, basically, my theme song.
My life. | Reviewer: -Me | 1/15/09
This is basically my life. I'm a car geek. I'm that guy you know who can name cars and rattle of a spec sheet when they see one. So every ex, every lost friend, every fucked up story I tell when we're drunk is translated into a car.
How do you get away from your own life if you see it following you?

I love how this song has a line inspired by a rolling stones song. "I see a red jeep and i want it painted black" hahaha!

I love this song because it depicts my feelings EXACTLY towards a certain ex-boyfriend of mine.
It's not the same car, but my last boyfriend and I used to drive around for hours, and now that we're not together, I see his car everywhere...

awesome song | Reviewer: Anonymous | 2/12/07
i agree with what you said, with one minor change, i think it sounds happy either because she's actually happy to see the car all the time, hoping that it is him comming back to her, or possibly for just for irony, idunno.

I really love this song.
I guess it's about being haunted by thelove of your life, who's let you down. But she is being reminded everyday because everyone has the same car as him and he is still breaking her heart. But the song sounds kindof happy. I think this is because she'ssupposed to be high, trying to drown away her sorrow. She's talking aobut hiding away until of the popular car in Boston eventually goes out of style.
