"bad habit" is about amanda's distructive habit of picking the skin off around her fingers, yes. if someone takes "bad habit" as being about cutting, it is still a destructive habit, and the song still makes sense and touches people. just because "the 11 year old" interpreted "bad habit" as being about cutting doesn't mean they are "emo." that interpretation makes perfect sense. After all she inflicts pain upon herself in order to make herself feel better. Some people cut, she bites the skin around her nails...
