No TV shopping in 1979. | Reviewer: Anonymous
Its nothing to do with Tv Shopping as such a thing did not exist in England in 1979, It reads like he's reading out an ad leaflet out of a magazine. Its an amazing track with a huge amount of passion and a tinge of madness.
nothing funny about this song | Reviewer: Anonymous
I think it is a song about a break up, and it deals with trying to kill your insomniac brain with TV shopping in the middle of the night. But even in these conditions, even the most brainless activity, cannot make him think of something else.
He shouldn't be there watching TV, nobody's taken the narrator's friend's place.
To me this is about the impossibility to make a commitment to someone, even though the person means everything to the narrator. And in contrast, he orders the decorating set...
There could be something about a negative acception of the expression "the icing on the cake" (of the narrator's break up) in the choice of the object of the TV shopping.
HILARIOUS | Reviewer: Anonymous
Holy shit. I'd never actually paid attention to the lyrics of this until now. Holy shit it's hilarious. It's so insanely random. A nice big non-sequotoir in the middle of the album.
I really wonder what the story behind the writing of this song is.
wtf? | Reviewer: Anthony
I was listening to this song for the first time and was thinking What the hell is this? Then, when they got to the REALLY crappy singing and the guy yelling "SO WHAT??!?!", I really had to look up the lyrics.
what a great song.
