The Cars were one of the bands to usher in the techno age, while maintaining a rock image. Whatever instrument they played was precision, crisp and clear. The instrumentation - keyboards, guitars, drums all just fit. Also, Ric Ocasek shows he's better than your average rock lyricist in this one. The Cars really were best in their earliest period.
