Living in Rhymney gives me great pleasure & pride to know that this poem is still being listened to today. Rhymney was once the heart of an industrial working community, where people came from far & wide to settle to work in this small valleys town. What a marvellous man Idris Davies was! Thank-you.

This song speaks the truth. My Grandfather was a coal miner in the Rhondda Valley (Pentra) Wales.
