The Beautiful South is a group that I've liked since my student days, I left Uni in 1994! , and before that I'd also enjoyed listening to the Housemartins. I'd just like to say that, in my opinion, once you listen to this group you're hooked for life, their songs DON'T sound the same - like other groups - and you have to listen for the message in them. Great lyrics!
They're a group that grows on you and their songs, for me, bring back memories and also make you think of people you thought you'd long forgotten - for me, not a lot of songs do that.
Something I thought I'd say: I teach English abroad as a foreign language and now my students are learning of a fantastic group called The Beautiful South, long may you continue making albums, so that up-and-coming younger audience can continue to listen to you and let their imagination run riot, be sad, be happy listening to your songs, but above all be beautiful !!! xxxxx |
