Not about Lennon's girlfriend | Reviewer: merry | 1/12/09

Al, you're wrong. "Anna (Go To Him)" s a song written and originally performed by Arthur Alexander and recorded by him in 1962. John Lennon really liked the song, so The Beatles recorded it on their first album. It had nothing to do with a girlfriend.

The actual name of Lennon's first girlfriend was Anna. After a brief and intense love affair, she left him for a boy a few years older. This song hit a chord with John, so he wanted to record it.
