This isn't The Beatles' song. The original is by Arthur Alexander. And you're right, Gerry & PM's is a lot better, but The Beatles' recording was live so there's that to take into consideration.

Lryics are accurate. A far better (and much better known) version was released by Gerry Marsden & The Pacemakers... I think it's the ONLY cover of a Beatles' song better than the Beatles' own version. Get your hands on a copy of the Gerry & The Pacemakers version and you'll hear what I mean.

These lyrics are quite accurate. It's a great site. I heard this for the first time recently when I bought the Beatles Live at the BBC. It has 26 songs they never released, but sang live on the radio show "Pop Go the Beatles" in the early '60's.

This is a top notch little tune. I rarely hear it on the radio. I heard it 2-3 times about 8 years ago on a Beatles station in Los Angeles. That's all I've ever heard it. I'm not certain of the album. It has a live sound to it. Perhaps...it is live. This early song shows a glimpse of the bands genius.
