Thank you Rick | Reviewer: Paul Vdbon | 11/22/2008
This is one of my favorite songs since the first time I heard it, and it still makes my flesh creep. I was touched by the loneliness and the desperation from the music, the chords, and especially Rick Danko's singing. And only later when I learned to understand the english language I was amazed again that the lyrics told exactly what I had felt before by only hearing the music. Thank you Rick.
(And look at 1min03: you can see the satisfaction on Robbie’s face "There is nothing better than this...")

simply the best | Reviewer: mikki | 12/15/2007
These lyrics simply and most accurately describe a heart breaking and a soule slowly dying. I can feel the words burn in my heart as I relive the pain of being departed upon
great song | Reviewer: ryan | 7/11/2007
I think this is easily one of the greatest songs of all time. The Band is just legendary.

Major props to Garth for that amazingly kick-ass, gut and heart-wrenching sax solo.
And also for being just as great on the keys.

Love this song, love the way Danko sings it with such pain and passion, the chord progression is captivating, it just pulls you into the story of love lost. One of Robbie Robertsons best.
Traditional Love Ballard | Reviewer: Paul Grieves | 12/27/2004
If you were going to check this song out visually it is worth watching The Last Waltz. I feeel this song represents beautifully The Band. the other song similar is The weight. However, this is a true love song of heart ache and pain and played "oh so well". I learnt it as a repetoire for when i play other songs like Tom Waits "Old Shoes". But that`s not about remembering it`s about "i have to go". 2 great songs. this is my favorite BAND song!
