the lover | Reviewer: the lover | 11/30/2007
this song is depressing in a very stunning way. To me it feels like someone who is so in love, but they are too hurt to ever feel like love will be good again. beautiful.
No about r | Reviewer: jojosjojosjo | 11/29/2007
the song is not about religion!! ooh why you always have to relate it with religionan god and all that stuff? in the reviews of rebellion (lies) by The arcade fire the people also relate it with religion.

Christian pishstian !!! Thats what i think my god fearing friend. You Christians don't half talk some crap, away and wipe that shite from your lips - honestly! great song, one of the moodier numbers from the album - i like it

I think this song has more of a christian meaning. The first verse is talking about him forgetting god. The second verse talks about the differnet things he did, that had differnet names, but they were still all sin. He said it was like a cancer. I think that in the last verse he is rembembering how great god is and how awful a sinful life is.
emotion | Reviewer: jordan | 9/27/2007
you can almost hear the emotion in his voice, as with the rest of the (amazing) album. great song.
Beautiful | Reviewer: Anonymous | 9/13/2007
Beautiful song. Has an almost operatic quality about it. I can imagine it being sung by the late Roy Orbison.
THE ARCADE FIRE- - - GODS? | Reviewer: Elaynah | 6/22/2007
this is the perfect song to describe anyone who is heartbroken. It sounds like it should be in some great romantic movie. Arcade Fire should so make a music video for this song so I can finally see what they are referring to! The home-made music videos on youtube aren't even worth watching!
