I'm gonna have to agree with foreverlive and cristal,
though I haven't seen the interview they're talking about,
it makes more sense that it's actually about the guilt of leaving your loved ones behind when traveling.

I saw that interview, and i agree with you, its about leaving the ones you love to reach your dreams,
but in that interview he also said he wrote the lyrics in a way that every person can interprete it in their own way

foreverlive.
ellie is correct. its about William losing his lyric book on a plane from LAX to O'Hare, just 2 days before recording Santi

is one of the BEST on the album. and i think 'ellie' is incorrect about nthe meaning of the song, even thoguht it is open to interpretation. I'm not so sure about the above incedent happening, but in an AT&T blue room interview, will said it was bout leaving your family and loved ones and experiencing a certain guilt when you travel. its related to touring.

My favorite band. I listen to them daily.
This song, if you've heard of the story, is about William Beckett(the singer) losing his lyric book in the LAX airport if I am not mistaken. And then him having to re-write it all just before recording.
Great voice, great lyrics.
5 star band.
