At every concert I have been to of theirs lately they have done some lame ass endorsement of some product or other. On the Honda Civic Tour they did a bit were Pete was playing on top of a civic. So lame. The fact that they are sell outs says nothing about the quality of their music though- it is musically non-complex but catchy and enjoyable. As distracted as I am by all the people publicly dissing some of my all-time favorite bands on this page, I'm going to go ahead and focus my review on the TAI song "Down and Out" - which is what this space is for. I absolutely LOVE The Academy Is..., and William Beckett is without a doubt one of the most beautiful boys I have ever seen in my life. The lyrics to some of these songs are amazing... There are so many good lines in them. In this song, for example, I absolutely love the line "Speak now or forever hold your peace in pieces". It's just so clever, and it's making a decent point, too. If you don't speak up when the time is right, it's going to tear you apart - and you could easily lose a friend. Or worse, you could lose yourself. So, yeah!! TAI = LOVE.
