Kings of the New Age | Reviewer: Tom | 1/8/08 I grew up listening to oldies. Def, Skynard, Dire Straits and AC/DC are all logged within my mind as some of the greatest bands. There is only one Band that I will gratefully bow before, though. This is System of a Down. I write poetry and songs, most of them have a nonsensical, sometimes even phantasmagoric quality to them. I thought that my anti-political rants were one of a kind, that no one actually understood my point of view, my unique style. Then, I caught wind of SOAD. It took four days for me to hear, listen and buy all four albums and download all of their non-album work. The sheer genius of them is completely incomparable. No band has sent such a drastic message careening into the minds of the masses quite like theirs. The absolution of their work should send the hairs on the back of your neck to stand on end. I have one thing to say to them, keep it up, never stop. Serj, Daron, John, Shavo, My hat's off to you.
