How and why ? | Reviewer: HansKneifel | 7/30/09
Okey. I can understand all of you . But I can't understand that Armenians are innocent. Being think as Turk , You are in war with big Nations. (etc. England, Russia ) You mustn't make an effor in your country ( etc. Revolt ) but someone like Armenians are revolting against you. They are killing ur Citizens and attacking ur Soldiers for only İndependent even They and Turks have lived together for centuries.
What will you do then İf u are padishah of the Ottoman Empire ?
I don't think that you won't do something them. Because you are in WAR and you must do something , otherwise you will be crushed from enemies.
two sides of a coin | Reviewer: Anonymous | 5/29/09
well. im not turkish or armenian, but you have to consider that armenien people started to kill turks first, backed by russia to that times. it was more a defense than a massacre. so why should have turkey done it? there is no serious explenation. armeninans say it was a religous or racial issue. this cant be true, because the ottoman empire consisted of muslims, christian jews and nearly all culture foundable in the orient.
kind regards

I'm of Native American descent and I can easily relate to this song. Like some anonymous asshole below me said: "Great song, tragic story." I wish this band would get their heads out of their asses and bring the real System Of A Down back. None of that solo or Scars on Broadway shit! SOAD ftw gg!
.... | Reviewer: Kenna Kaiser | 1/24/09
although I'm not taking sides, i think that its really stupid for the turks to come on here and deny everything.. and, uh, I'm not armenian nor turkish. This argument would be like if a Jewish band came on here and started giving germany crap about the Halacaust. I'm sure that my relatives were Nazi but I'm not going to try to defend them for killing innocent people. So all the arguments on here were failed attempts to get any sympothy from me, which I'm sure wasn't what you were aiming for or anything.

the group wants to have more funs by lyrics, interwies, banners which against turks. turks did not kill any armenians. at the war some armenians started to kil turks. they wanted to found an armenian country, in the ottomans lands. ottoman empire move some of armenians to Ordu-Kastamonu, Ankara-Niğde, Malatya-Maraş, Diyarbakır- Urfa- Adana ve Suriye-Irak in ottoman empire lands. before they send them there all of armenians goods written. they are still in ottoman archives which open to all world. there is no genecide..... for more information look at www.os-ar.com/print.php?sid=94 (in turkish) thanks to readers
The True Meaning | Reviewer: Nick | 10/24/08
The song is dedicated to the victims of the Armenian Genocide. All of the members of System of a Down are of Armenian descent.
The booklet on the album before the track number and the title say:
"System of a Down would like to dedicate this song to the memory of the 1.5
million victims of the Armenian Genocide, perpetrated by the Turkish
Government in 1915."

This Song Kicks Ass | Reviewer: Alex The Redeemer | 5/31/08
hell yeah, love this song. turkey denies genocide [along with the US govt, though most states recognize it]. how is that a mutual and fair relationship? while turks get fed anti-armenian propaganda to this day in turkey, i don't think it would be right to diss SOAD for writing these lyrics. hyastan!!!
Fomenting Hate | Reviewer: Anonymous | 2/14/08
This band is fomenting hate against the Turks with the lyrics...The future between the Turks and Armenians should be based on mutual understanding and reconciliation...Can we expect from an Armenian kid hearing this song not to hate the Turks?...People suffered in Anatolia during the abominable World War One conditions. Millions of people died, be it Armenians, Turks, Kurds, Arabs...Armenians talk about their sufferings, but what about the sufferings of the other people in those years? What we need is empathy...
we need to learn | Reviewer: Anonymous | 9/10/07
yes the armenian genocide issue deservs learning, but i think it must be learned from both sides because (turkish and armenian) everybody has a story...
Why... (Oh Damn...) Why this System go Down? | Reviewer: Samuel-Chand | 8/19/07
Will the human beings remain thirsty to control everything what surrounds them? Either they shall leave the judgment aside for a moment of reason? Does the human really know what the evolution? Big car, big house? Big reflection, big action? It is sure, we have to aim always bigger, but to what greatness do we go? Challenge for all before dying: have been even more completed than our parents...

Wow. | Reviewer: Vincent Tippens | 7/1/07
This song is pretty good. It's probably one of SOAD's best, if you ask me (though all of them are just downright awesome). I'm actually trying to learn more about the Armenian Genocide because of this one song...
